Previously on Trial and Error...

After getting transported to sit in front of the council, Jessica is told that she was on trial for supposedly almost causing a war between factions in New Orleans but Jessica could see it for what it really was. The witch wanted her out of the way so that Jessica couldn't take down the council. She bated Jessica until Jessica reminded the council of her power leading to an ultimatum, either Jessica kills Klaus within three months or she faces the wrath of the council.

Jessica's P.O.V.

I spent my three months researching each council member in search of some weakness. The werewolf was named Kassandra Wilkins. She was unique because she came from a relatively poor family until she was discovered as being a descendant of all 7 lines when she learned that she could shift at will after killing a man who had tried to rape her. After that, she was worshipped by all the wolves. Despite being named their leader, she was more of a submissive personality so when Tituba, who I learned was the name of the witch, approached her with a peace treaty, Kassandra jumped at the chance to share power and help her people.

Next, there was Ophelia Wright. I learned about Ophelia straight from her sire, none other than Niklaus Mikaelson. Klaus had met Ophelia shortly after his failure to bring Vivianne back to life. She was a peasant girl living in the outskirts of France but she was crafty. He said that he admired her beauty but also her ability to manipulate those around her.

He said she reminded him of me. Ophelia was good at hiding the fact that she was a peasant and planned to find a wealthy husband. Instead, she found Kol Mikaelson who was looking for a plaything. Before Kol could actually do anything, however, Ophelia contracted the plague, and Kol, having actually cared for her despite his willingness to use her, took it upon himself to care for her. Nik, upon seeing her call out for her father to stop, saw his first love within her and turned her.

Ophelia took to being a vampire quickly. She had impeccable control and used her abilities for good, using her blood to heal those she could during the horrible plague that overtook Europe. She met Tituba and Kassandra a century after turning and joined the council because she could captivate a room with a simple smile and had a calming voice. She had befriended every vampire she met except for those that were evil whom she promptly killed without thought or remorse. I liked her the most but her personality seemed to clash with Tituba so it didn't make sense why she was letting her run the show.

Finally, there was Tituba. Tituba was born a century before Kassandra, not that you would be able to tell. She was born into a wealthy family that had many riches but she was one of the most kind-hearted souls you would ever meet. She would use her powers to heal everyone in the village that she could and she was absolutely adored. The witches followed her because despite not being from a well-known family, she was exceptionally powerful. She found a way to stunt her aging so that she could help her people and as soon as she heard about Kassandra she knew she could broker peace.

She didn't take advantage of Kassandra, they truly were partners at first. They were extremely close and happy until they met a guardian for the first time. The guardians, as the highest power of the supernatural world aside from Nature, made it their job to assist those that needed it. This is why when they got the prophecy, they promptly delivered it to the council. Kassandra and Tituba feared for their lives when they heard about Vivianne Lescheres and it was none other than Niklaus Mikaelson who had saved them from their fate.

This is what surprised me. Out of all of the Mikaelson and other people to go after, each and every one of them had Klaus to thank for something. Had Vivianne truly been the one of the prophecy then she would've destroyed them simply for the power, she told me as much herself. I made it clear that I wouldn't attack unless they made a move first so why are they going after me?
