Chapter 33- The Salvatore Boarding School

3rd Person P.O.V

Hope Mikaelson wasn't having a particularly good time. After seeing Landon dead only to watch his body burn for him to rise from the ashes revealing himself to be a phoenix, she wasn't in the best place mentally. She was having trouble controlling her powers, even in her dreams, which was evident after she accidentally threw Landon out of her bed after he attempted to wake her from a bad dream. This is why she was heading outside that morning. She thought some air might do her good.

The moment the door opened, she noticed her. A girl about 16 with brown hair lay curled up on the doorstep of the Salvatore Boarding School. Hope frowned. This had never happened before, believe it or not. While the people of Mystic Falls made fun of the Salvatore School kids and even egged the school before, they didn't go drinking around the school and pass out on the porch. That's when Hope remembered their most current problem: Malivore.

So she went and got Ric. She told him that there was a teenage girl passed out on the porch and he came rushing to her. The first thing he did was attempt to check her pulse, to see if she's alive. Unlucky for him, that was the moment Jessica finally woke up. She grabbed his wrist and twisted it, almost breaking it before she noticed who it belonged to. She quickly let go and scooted away from him before standing up. "Where the hell am I?" She demands, looking around. She notices Ric, but she could tell from touching him that it wasn't her Ric. In fact, wherever she had been sent, Jessica Gilbert didn't exist.

"You're at the Salvatore Boarding School," Ric tells her in a calming voice.

"What the hell is that?"

"It's a Boarding School," Hope tells her condescendingly and Jessica turns her attention to her. With a quick glance in her mind, her suspicions are confirmed. This is Hope Mikaelson and judging by the overwhelming pain disguised in anger she had woken up with, the two were still emotionally bound.

"Well hello to you too, Miss Emotionally Unstable," Jessica comments before turning to Ric with a smile. "My apologies. I don't remember how I got here but I am terribly sorry for disturbing you. I'll just be on my way now," she tries but he stops her.

"What's your name?"

"Jessica G- Carter. Jessica Carter," she lies.

"Why don't you come inside, Jessica?"

"That's okay. Really, I should be going." She tries to escape once more only to be stopped before she caves and enters the school with Ric and Hope, only to find a bunch of decorations. Lizzie tells him that they are hosting Miss Mystic Falls and Jessica has to bite back a smile. She can tell immediately that Lizzie is one of Ric's twins. She's just like Caroline and from what she'd seen in Ric's head, Caroline was all he had since Kai went crazy and killed his twin in the reality.

Ric sighs but agrees before leading Jessica to his office. "So, Miss Carter-"

"This a school for supernatural creatures, right?" He blanches, shocked at how she knows this. "I can tell a vampire when I see one and your witches aren't exactly subtle, now are they? You can cut the crap though because I may know of the supernatural but I'm not," she tells him and he studies her.

"I don't believe you."

"What do you mean you don't believe me? You have no evidence that I'm supernatural."

"You showed up on our doorstep and a lot of monsters have done that lately."

"Do your students enjoy being referred to as monsters?" She quips and he smirks.
