Chapter 2- Old 'Friends' Return

Jessica's P.O.V.

Three days after the wedding, Ric called me and told me that Jo went to the doctor in Hawaii where they were honeymooning and she had lost the babies. I was shocked and I felt horrible, I thought I had saved them and Ric was distraught so I couldn't tell him I was pregnant, it seemed as though that would be throwing it in his face.

Like 'Oh hey, sorry you lost your twins but since time worked differently in the other dimension I'm practically as far along as Jo is and I'm also having twins'. I decided against it so now the only person that knows besides us is Freya because she heard us talking about it.

It's been a day since I got the call from Ric and Klaus has an art exhibit tonight that Damon and I are meant to accompany him to. He also invited Cami but I know that she's trying to stay away for my sake whether to save our friendship or avoid my wrath I'm unsure but so long as she isn't trying to get with Nik, I don't really care. I hope she comes however since everyone else is busy.

Hayley and Jack are babysitting Hope in the bayou since it's a full moon, Marcel opened a gym in St. Anne's church before he got to Teen Wolf World and he and Rebekah have an event going on there tonight, Kol is attached to Davina's hip as per usual and she still isn't a fan of Klaus but said they may stop by. Freya is reconnecting with a less insane Mikael, and Elijah and Meredith simply didn't answer when he said something. He hadn't actually invited Vivianne, worried that Eric might not appreciate it considering their past and I didn't press.

Damon, Nik, and I are sitting in the courtyard eating french toast and discussing the art exhibit when Meredith and Elijah came downstairs. I smile at them. "Hey there's some french toast in the kitchen if you're hungry." Meredith grins and goes to get some before joining us in the courtyard. "Hey, I don't know if you guys remember but Nik has his art show tonight at St. James Infirmary and it'd be great if you were there to support him."

"It's fine, love," Nik tries but I shoot him a look as Meredith takes a drink of her orange juice.

"Sorry, Klaus. I remembered you talking about it but I forgot the date. We have plans tonight. I'm sure it'll go great though. I've seen you're art and you're extremely talented," she assures and I smile at her while Elijah speaks up.

"She's right, brother. It will go great. It must be nice to not have to worry about the threat of father anymore."

"Hmm, it is quite odd to be living under the same roof as him once again," he confirms and I roll my eyes as my phone chimes with a message from Cami asking me to head down to the police station.

"Well at least he isn't beating or killing you and you have a relationship with your father," I point out and he nods with a smile. "I will see you at your art show but I have to meet Cami right now. I'll attempt to talk her into attendance as I'm sure my threat is what's keeping her away. Damon be ready when I arrive so I can change and we'll go alright." He nods and I kiss both of them. "Goodbye my loves." I walk away sure that Meredith and Elijah are hiding something and determined to find out what.

It doesn't take long for me to get to the police station and when I walk in, I see Cami and Vincent talking to a detective. I make my way over to them, shooting Vincent a distasteful look before focusing on my blonde friend. "Jessica, this is Detective Kinney. I was asked to do a psychological profile on this man that was murdered and Vincent suggested you might have something to do with it," she says, shooting an angry look at the former regent.

"I can assure you, Detective, that if I intended to kill someone you wouldn't find the body and I'd have a reason. I haven't had much of a reason to kill people although false accusations could get me there," I snarl at Vincent but Cami puts her hand on my arm and I roll my eyes but calm down as the detective speaks.
