Chapter 13- A Christmas Surprise

Jessica's P.O.V.

I wake up Christmas morning to an annoying pounding on my door. I snuggle further into Damon's chest with a groan, only to have the knocking get louder. I huff before untangling myself from my somehow still sleeping boyfriend before grabbing a robe and opening the door to reveal Elijah. "What?"

"Follow me. Something's happened to Camille," he states in a worried tone before walking towards her room with me following. As soon as I walk in, I notice the blood covering the bed along with Klaus attempting to comfort a distraught Cami, who I can sense from my place at the door is in transition. I rush over and sit on Cami's other side, not caring that I'm getting blood on my robe.

"What happened?" I ask and Klaus looks up.

"I came in here to check on her this morning. She didn't answer when I knocked so I assumed she was sleeping but then I smelled the blood and when I opened the door, she was laying on the bed covered in blood. Her throat had been slit," he reveals before Cami speaks up.

"It was Aurora. At the gym, she compelled me that once I saw the love in your eyes that you used to look at her with, I was to slit my throat. I saw it when you were looking at Jessica all day yesterday. I couldn't fight it," Cami cries and I frown, feeling guilty for not even thinking that Aurora may have compelled Cami.

"It's not your fault, Cami. It's mine. I should've known that Aurora would want revenge on Klaus. She had to know that he wouldn't just forgive her for hurting him even if it was because of Elijah." Before anyone else can speak, Meredith runs in with a worried look on her face.

"Jess, we have a problem!"

"Bigger than Aurora turning Cami into a vampire?" She goes to answer when we hear another voice shouting in the courtyard.

"Jessica Isabelle Gilbert get your ass down here!" I look at Meredith in shock.

"Shit. It's Jenna."

"Why is that a problem?" Nik asks and I give him a look.

"Because in the midst of war in New Orleans, I haven't exactly got around to calling her and informing her of my pregnancy." I take a deep breath before turning to my twin. "Go distract her with your pregnancy and I'll be down after I change Cami back." Meredith nods but Cami speaks up.

"No. I want to be a vampire. I'm tired of people taking advantage of me for being human."

"Cami, that's not a good reason to turn," I tell her but she won't listen so I tell Klaus to give her a blood bag before going to speak with my aunt. "Hey, Jenna. How've you been?" I questions, trying not to sound suspicious but when I look at her, I know that someone already told her that I was pregnant.

"Well, I was doing okay until I died and had to complete transition into a vampire only to find out from my ex-boyfriend that not one but two of my nieces were pregnant and neither had thought to tell me," she states angrily and normally I would get angry but I can tell that her anger is part of her heightened emotions, meaning she must've died recently.

"First, I accidentally transported myself and a lot of others into a different dimension and it was in that dimension that I got pregnant and then I didn't tell anybody because I thought Ric and Jo lost their kids after the wedding. Second, you didn't know because you skipped Friendsgiving this year just like you did last year. Even Jeremy came and he doesn't even like the Originals. Third, when did you die?"

She sighs before taking a seat. "A month ago, I got into a bad accident. A drunk driver or something. I was in the hospital in critical condition. Believe it or not, it was during Thanksgiving so I think I get a pass for this one. My emergency contact was my boyfriend but he was also in the accident. We both died but my blood was still mixed with yours and when I woke up in the morgue, I compelled away my history of being there and grabbed a blood bag before searching for you. It was like I had this terrible need to see you and then Ric called and told me about your pregnancy and where you were. I don't even remember why I was angry." She frowns and I sigh, realizing what's happened when Vivianne beats me to the reveal.
