Previously on Trial and Error...
After dealing with the de Martel siblings and Lucien which ended with Jessica, Klaus, and Damon having twins and Jessica an even more unique creature after her transition into a vampire that didn't affect her powers at all, Jessica is more confused than ever as to what she truly is. In the time of peace, Meredith and Elijah take the opportunity to get hitched leading to longing emotions from both Klaus and Damon who fear Jessica may never want to tie the knot. During the reception, Jessica is suddenly transported to an unfamiliar place where she is faced with the exact people the guardians had warned her she was meant to destroy.
Jessica's P.O.V.
I'm not really the type of person to feel fear. I don't know what that's about but I have only truly felt fear completely once in my life. When my parents' car went off that bridge and I thought we were all going to die. I may have felt scared a few times but at this moment I realize that I have only felt one moment of fear...until now. From what I got from the guardians and my banshee senses, the counsel was bad news. They were the oldest beings in the world aside from the Originals and myself. Apart, they would never stand a chance against even one of us, especially not myself, but together, they were certainly a force to be reckoned with.
Despite the fear coursing through my veins, I don't even flinch as I plaster an unaffected look that I am confident even the smartest, most astute person in the world wouldn't be able to see through. "I wouldn't, in fact," I sass. "I know that you're worried that I'll kill you lot because of some stupid prophecy but I'll tell you like I told my family when they feared death because of a prophecy. All prophecies are self-fulfilling. Therefore, if you don't cross me, it can't come to pass and we can all go back to our regularly scheduled programming. What do you say?" I smack a fake grin on my face and focus on the one I can sense as the witch. The one most worried about her survival.
"That isn't what this meeting is about Ms. Gilbert," the werewolf answers. I focus on her. She's pretty with blonde curls and blue eyes. She could easily pass as a guardian.
"Well color me intrigued," I say with an eye roll that pisses off the witch.
"This is exactly the problem," she sneers, causing the two other members to look at her with looks of warning which she ignores. "You have been called before the council as a result of your reckless actions! You about started a war between the species! What do you have to say for yourself?!"
"I didn't almost do anything," I begin slowly as though I were speaking to a child that didn't quite understand the concept of why they shouldn't do something. "I stopped a war between the species by stopping Lucien's plan which was aided by the ancestors of New Orleans, a force which I stopped, by the way."
"You granted that same power to Marcel Gerard in an effort to save one vampire who has caused more death than the ancestors of New Orleans you claim to be so evil. You could have destroyed the witches in New Orleans completely with that move!" She accuses.
"No, I couldn't have. Their power is linked to their regent, Davina. Her magic is linked to Nature, something I ensured myself. By toppling the ancestors I made New Orleans safer and stopped the witches' hatred for vampires. The ancestors attempted to kill all vampires, something which would be the first piece to toppling your council, by the way."
"She does have a point," the vampire states. She is also very pretty with dark hair, most likely black but hard to see in the room. Her eyes are kind and I can see the sympathy for me. A sympathy that worries. It's almost a warning tied with an apology for what seems to come.
