Lily was super excited to see me along with being concerned about where I had been. Brett had decided to keep as much information as he could a secret, he didn't want her to know just how much danger she had been in. Like water seeping into the cracks of my broken shell guilt flooded my scenes.
Was I really this weak? To think that just a second ago Brett was encouraging me and lifting my burden of guilt.
One look at Lily and I felt as if I let her down.
"Luna? It's okay, you don't have to worry." She smiled while a few stray curls fell on her face.
"Oh? And why is that?"
"Because my daddy is strong he can protect the pack!" Oh, my goddess, this kid was so cute! I hugged her one more time before explaining that I would see her tonight. To which she responded with more excitement about going to a party.
"I gotta say that's one of the first times I've seen her so happy to actually go out in public."
"Well, I'm glad that someone's looking forward to it. Although calling it a party is a little much. It's not like we'll have a cake and balloons or anything."
"Ha! Well, we may not have those, but I wouldn't count the whole pack out. Everyone is looking forward to this ceremony. They don't see it as a party taking place at the wrong time, they see it as a reason for hope. Their Luna is back, go through hell to get there, but one of the first things she wants to do is meet the pack. If that doesn't say commitment to the cause I don't know what does."
"I guess you have a point there, I am looking forward to being officially introduced to the pack, but I'm most looking forward to the explanation."
"Explanation?"
"Ya, I own this whole pack my life, and they deserve some kind of explanation for what's been going on. I don't think I'll tell them the whole truth, but I definitely won't try to be some savior or victim in the story either."
"Hmmm, and does Alaric know anything about this great speech that is going to take place tonight?"
"I'm sure he'll figure it out when I start talking."
"My goddess, you really are the only one who could actually get away with that kind of crap."
"I know that all too well, but no time for explaining right now! On to the next stop!"

Ashlyn was fidgeting in her room as a young girl was off to the side folding laundry. It was kind of awkward at first, I thought I was interrupting something, but as I saw the look on Ashlyn's face I knew how she felt about this situation.
"I'm guessing you're being babysat now? Is this what being grounded is like by Sander?" I chuckled as I took a seat next to her on the bed.
"No, this is what being pregnant by Sander looks like!" She exclaimed as she threw her hands in the air dramatically. Only for her to quickly bring them back down and lean in closer to whisper to me.
"She is driving me insane! I can't do anything around here anymore! I can't even fold my own clothes!"
"Can't you just ask her to leave?" I questioned as I looked over at the young girl putting away some towels in the bathroom. I felt kind of bad, if she tuned in her hearing towards us she probably could hear our entire conversation.
"That's the worst part! She's only 16, but apparently, she's been assisting female wolve with their first pregnancies since she was 10! I even heard that she started helping her mom when she was only five!"
