"Clove the club is like 30-45 minutes away depending on if we take the highway or back roads and that's in a car!"
"Ash, where is your faith in me?" I stood proudly with confidence in my now new clubbing dress. The dress was a dark green that had long sleeves but a slit down the chest that Alaric would definitely never approve for me to wear in public, not to mention that there was no way I could bend down without giving those around me a show. The dress was 100% meant for someone shorter than me. Meanwhile, Ash had changed into her black spaghetti strap dress that fell mid-thigh on her, I also didn't think Sander would approve of this.
We both had twisted our hair into buns because there was no way we would ever be able to style them and I had grabbed some cheap eyeshadow and mascara to help give us the club vibe. In the end, Ash referred to us as "beautifully dressed trash."
"Clove, what did you do?" She crossed her arms at me in disappointment.
"All I can say is that we will return it." I shrugged my shoulders and began spraying cheap perfume everywhere.
"Goddess, stop spraying that and show me what you did!" I rolled my eyes and led Ash to a small parking lot where there was a car. On my way back I had seen it, it wasn't new by any means and it didn't take much for me to wrap my T-shirt around my fist and smash the back window to get in. I had seen enough movies in my life to do that much and with the phone that I stole it didn't take a genius to google "how to hotwire a car."
"We are so dead when they find us..." Ash groaned as she got into the passenger's seat.
"We already knew that much," I laughed as I twisted the wires together and started the car.
"Alright let's begin the route."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The car ride was tense. All of the risks we had taken had let up to this moment and we were both hoping and wondering if it would all pan out. Or if the ends would ever justify the means.
"Clove," Ash stated.
"Ya?"
"I've been thinking about what happened back at the pack when we were both captured." I had too, there were so many things I wanted to talk to her about, but I didn't know if now was the right time.
"Back there, you almost shifted or well.... you shifted enough to change your eye color at least and grow some claws, but you didn't bleed. You didn't collapse in pain like the last time."
"I noticed that too, I don't know why I was able to though. My only guess so far is that I think this is what Castle was referring to."
"What do you mean?"
"When Castle was drinking my blood he said he was basically doing me a favor. I didn't know what he meant by that, but maybe this is it? I don't know, at least for now I can be of some help to you."
"Clove..."
"Ash you almost got kidnapped and killed back there too! Remember that? You said you were the Luna, you risked your life for me."
"Ya, I did and I would do it again. I didn't just do that to be stupid and stand up for my best friend, I did it because I trusted you. I trusted you would find a way to save me, you and Sander, and the pack for crying out loud!" Ash began tearing up a bit.
"Ash..."
"Hey, stop I don't want this car ride to turn into an emotional journey for the two of us. Right now we have bigger things to worry about." The car ride shifted into peacefulness as we both look forward to the road ahead.
