After about twenty to twenty-five minutes of running, I finally came to about ten yards away from the edge of the Bright Moon's territory. I closed my eyes and listened carefully. I didn't hear anyone or anything other than squirrels and other critters in the woods.

I took this moment to strip from the white dress that I still had on and close my eyes again. I focused on the fur and the claws and fangs that I felt burst through my skin the first time and I began to feel the pain that came with shifting. I felt my skin crawl over my muscles and my bones begin to ache as they tried to bend and break into other shapes. Sweat dripped down my neck and face and my fingernails began to bleed as claws tried to replace them. My head began to shake and burn until I couldn't keep it up any longer. I fell to the forest ground in a heap of breaths, sweat, and blood.

Tears flooded my eyes at just how overwhelming it all was. I tried to dig myself in deeper to the moist ground, trying to cool off my body, but to no avail. I shook my head again as I stood up with weak legs. I was an Alpha, there was no way I would give up this easily.

For the next half an hour I cried out in pain seven more times. Each trial getting shorter and shorter than the last.

I picked up my wite dress and underwear and walked back into the woods, there was a stream around here somewhere I could smell. Once I found it I washed myself up as best I could and put my dress back on. I had to go back to the spot where I tried to shift and cover up the blood. If one of the pack warriors on patrol were to come by and smell my blood there would way too many questions to evade. As I got closer to the border and began kicking up the dirt around the spot I heard a twig snap. I looked up and around, but I saw nothing.

Maybe it was just a deer or a raccoon or something. I told myself as I picked up my pace covering my tracks. Until I froze when I heard a voice.

"Well, well, well. What do we have here?" I heard a voice speak from beyond the pack borderline. I looked up to see a pail, lanky man dressed in a fancy suit that had been torn up and dirties.

"A she-wolf away from her pack, how interesting. What's a small wolfy like you doing all the way out here?"

I didn't say anything, I didn't even move. A vampire. It was a blood-sucking vampire. They weren't even supposed to be this far north...why, how?

"You look scared and confused. Hahaha, I'm flattered really, but nothing to worry your little wolfy head, you see I'm a nomad vampire. Meaning I wonder the world alone and only take blood for a drink, never to kill...." He told me as he looked down at my neck and licked his lips.

"Y-you can't cross the packs border.." I stumbled out saying, with zero confidence.

"Oh? She speaks does she?"

"You need to leave before the border patrol gets here if you want to live." I had no authority in my voice as I yelled at him.

"Oh I don't care about your little wolf friends sweety I'm very much interested in you though. Wolf blood alone tastes like wet dog piss, however, I've never tried Alpha blood." My eyes went wide at the fact he knew I was an Alpha.

"Oh come now it shouldn't be that much of a surprise. At first, I didn't even know you were here, I couldn't even smell your blood, but now... hmmm. When I first laid my eyes on you kicking up dirt I could smell it, I could smell the power in your blood." He began to step closer to the border.

He could smell that I was an Alpha from way over there?

"You wouldn't cross the border," I said to him, but more so to try and convince myself that he wouldn't.

"You don't know what I would do little she-wolf... in order to taste your blood." And with that said the vampire took this chance and stepped over the borderline. I gasped, this vampire was insane! This was an act of treason against the whole Bright Moon pack and he didn't seem to care one bit.
