I was scared as I walked over to the voice that called me to it. It didn't know my name, but it knew more than anyone else did in this pack, that was for sure. I couldn't leave without getting all the information I could, and apparently, this thing that was down here could tell I was broken, could tell a witch or a coven had done something to my wolf. His dry, heaving cackle of a laugh grew louder as I got closer. It wasn't until I had reached the other side of the room that I saw who I was talking to.

An old pale man who looked as if the only thing that was keeping him from falling apart was his own skin that was wrapped around his bones and body. He was starved and frail and he smelled like he was rotting away. Subconsciously my hand covers my face to try and stop the wretched smell from reaching my nose.

"I apologize for the smell of little wolf, but I didn't have time to clean up for an unexpected guess down here." He cackled some more, his voice sounded like a smoker's.

"Stop with the small chit chat and tell me what you know," I stated plainly, the faster I got the information the faster I could get out of here!

"I see, right to the point. I would expect nothing less from the Luna of this fine pack." I couldn't see very much, but I could see his toothy smile that would have been more of a sneer had he had the muscle on his face to actually form it properly.

"I'll need something from you first my dear... I'll help you if you help me..." This was a scam, a trick nothing could be this easy.

"Depends what you want and what I get out of it." Even if this was a scam I didn't have a lot of people offering me information about what was wrong with me.

"Give me some of your blood and in return, your burden will decrease."

"What? I'm not going to take that vague crap from you!" It was at that moment that I received a mind like from Ash saying I had about five minutes to wrap everything up and get back to the house.

"You may not want this "vague crap", as you put it from me, but you don't have time to refuse it." With anger boiling in my hands I stomped forward to the cage that this thing was locked behind and whispered yelled at him.

"I am not going to give you my blood, you tell me what you know or I tell Alpha about you," I said as I pointed at him. He stayed hunched over his eyes not moving from the ground where they watched a cockroach scurry across the floor.

In less than a blink of an eye, he jumped to his feet and reached his own hands through the bars that defined him as a prisoner and snatched my arm in his own, yanking me forward so I hit the cage with a rattle.

"I am a warlock my dear, but I was also turned into a vampire on orders that were given by the Alpha of this pack. Don't threaten me with his name, he's already taken my life and "humanity" if you can call it that." I pulled and pulled trying to break away from his grasp, but it was no use. This man was too strong, even though he had no muscle!

"Being a vampire I can live, and as a warlock, I am able to see more than most, but I cannot escape unless I have more strength," he smiled once more before his rotting teeth sharpened and bit down into my radial artery. I was about to scream, to cry for help, and get caught, but before I could this man's hands reached out and clamped down on my neck, making me swallow the scream in my throat.

I couldn't breath and My arm stung with the pain while my head rocked back and forth. Right before I was about to lose consciousness he let me go and I fell back onto the cold stone ground. I looked up to see the man looking more alive than ever, his skin reviving itself.

"I'll definitely need more, but I'm finding an urge to give you a chance to escape. I've never felt the need to have prey.. Let alone chase it." His voice was clearer and more audible. I slowly moved to my hands and knees and began crawling away with sweat dripping down my face and tears streaming down my eyes. This was bad, this was really, really bad.

"Don't worry my Luna, your secrets are safe with me, no one will know you were down here. I'll be cleaning up any and all blood you leave behind." I turned around for a split second to see the old man leaning down to the ground as he began to lick up the blood that had spilled from my wrist. My wound was trying to heal, but with the fear coursing through my veins the only thing my body could possibly manage at this time was staying continuous and getting the hell out of this basement.

I had finally managed to get up the basement stairs and out the door. I slowed my breathing by covering my mouth and peeked out onto the main floor. It seemed like everyone had left or moved outside. There were a few wolves still on the floor and none of them seemed to pay much attention to the smell of fresh blood in the room. I was breathing so hard that I couldn't keep myself quiet for long I had to get back to the packhouse. I didn't notice the blood that was running down my arm and soaking into the carpet. I didn't notice the footsteps that were following me up the cobblestone steps as I burst through the back entrance and ran across the grassy field back to Ash's room.

"Hey, Clove Sander and I are still talking on the fields of the training ground. I bought you some more time, but the warriors that were with me were dismissed by Sander just now. So, they are on their way back right now."

I did not have the energy to respond or comprehend what Ash had just told me, and at the moment I didn't care. I just wanted to get back to the safety of the packhouse and see Alaric I was panicking and screaming inside and crying. I wanted to be with Alaric and for him to hold me and tell me it was alright.

Through pure luck, I managed to make it back to Ash's room and climb through the window and crash down onto the ground and take huge gulps of air that stung my lungs. I couldn't even pick myself off of the ground as I tried to wipe the tears from my eyes. I looked over at my wrist that was still bleeding.

"Shit," I whispered, the warrior down the hallway would definitely smell this. At the moment though that was the least of my concern, because of the window that I didn't close.

"So this is where the little wolf runs to in her time of fear."

"No," I breathed out. It was barely audible, but the man still heard me.

"Hey, hey none of that. I can't kill the Luna of the pack, I mean she didn't lock me in that cage for years torturing me. However, that doesn't mean I can't take a little blood to make my great escape." With that said he picked me up and pulled my arm behind my back. He ripped off my backpack and threw it to the floor causing it to slide underneath Ashlyn's bed.

"AHHHH!" I  shouted as more blood spilled from my wrist. After I screamed it took no time at all for the one warrior at the end of the hall and the warriors that had escorted Ashlyn to the training grounds to come bursting through the door. The man's gaze did not break away from my neck though as he brushed my hair aside.

"It looks like we have an audience now." He whispered in my ear.

"Let go of the Luna now!" Five warriors filled Ashlyn's and Sander's room all of their eyes yellow with rage and their claws breaking through their fingernails.

"I would love to, but you see I'm starving and I just love the taste of a powerful she-wolf." He responded back to the warriors and opened his mouth full of razor shaped teeth.

"NO! Stop let go!" I tried to wriggle free, but he tightened his hold on my arm causing me to scream louder. He leaned in closer to me, but instead of biting my neck, he whispered every so lightly in my ear. Soft enough for only me to hear.

"You might not understand now, but this will help you in your journey, but my help does come at a price...." After he finished he hissed and clenched down hard on my collar bone ferociously like a starved animal finally receiving flesh for the first time.

As if I wasn't already light-headed enough it was like this freak was sucking out more than just my blood. I was drained in every way possible, my vision began to blur and my stomach did thirty flips in five seconds. The room was swinging side to side and before everything went dark I saw Alaric with the most panicked and fearful look on his face, for about three seconds and then all I saw was a blur of black fur racing towards me.
