Alaric and I stayed in that office for a while. We didn't speak for a while we simply stayed on the floor. I sat with my back against Alaric's chest with his arms wrapped around me, refusing to let us separate.
There were a million things I wanted to talk to him about. The threats that he mentioned, what was going to happen now, was I allowed to have more freedom and could I expect this kind of behavior every time I got hurt or disappeared? I kept my mouth shut though, it felt like it took all of his strength just to say the things he did. Any more pushing on my part didn't seem like a good idea.
"Are you feeling better?" He asked as he ran his fingers over my hand and wrist that were wrapped.
"Much better, it helps that you're here," I said as I leaned further back into him.
"That's good," he replied back as he slid his fingers in between my own, bracing our hands together, "I'm glad."
"Are you feeling better?" I questioned him. I felt him lower his head down onto the back of my neck in a heap of exhaustion.
"My head has cleared, it seemed like after what happened to you I became hysterical." I chuckled a little and tightened my grasp on his hand.
"Clover, last night I overreacted, but parts of what I said are still true."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean that for the time begin you are not allowed to leave to the packhouse and you will have warriors with you throughout the day. Your initiation to the pack will still be a small ceremony." I took deep breathes as I processed all the rules that Alaric was telling me.
"All these rules because a prisoner escaped?"
"All of these rules because the person or persons behind the threats I've been receiving finally followed through on their words." Oh, that made more sense. The reason Alaric wasn't letting me go anywhere was that he expected the people responsible for the threats to "make their next move." When in reality it was his mate stealing weapons to leave the pack. Again I guess this was my karma for my actions.
"Brett mentioned that I'm not allowed to meet the pack. Is that true?" It had been five days now since I came to the Obsidian Night pack and I hadn't officially been introduced as the Luna nor had I been officially introduced to my new pack.
Did I even deserve to be thought? After all the trouble I had caused.
"That's for your safety. I don't yet know who gave their blood to Castle. It could have been someone from the pack or it could have been an outsider. Whoever it was it seems as though their goal was to hurt you specifically." I pinched my lips together and I shut my eyes. I was even more confused than ever right now as to why Castle "let me getaway."
"I see, so what now?" Alaric groaned at my question.
"For now all we can do it increase our border patrol to monitor outsiders and keep a close eye on the pack."
"What about us? Are we okay?" I felt a small kiss placed on my check and a blush raced to my face to meet it.
"As long as you're safe and with me, we're more than okay."

Alaric and I ended up back in our room. This time it was my turn to insist that he rest.
"Clover, you're being ridiculous. I'm not even hurt." I stopped fluffing his pillow and raised an eyebrow at him.
"Oh really? I'm being ridiculous on insisting that you rest even when you're not hurt?" Alaric didn't find the humor in my comedy, but I still chuckled a little at it.
"I know you're not hurt, but you basically tore the pack apart and built a twenty-foot wall around it with warriors. You also haven't slept that much since I got hurt," I gave him an intense stare as I stepped back to see my own handy work at tucking Alaric into bed.
"Clover, I'm 24, you don't need to tuck me into bed."
"Would you rather I leave then?" In an instant Alaric sat up, destroying the sheets I had just tucked in into. Apparently, though it was too soon for joking about leaving him.
"Come here," he said as he outstretched his hand towards me. I sighed and walked over to him. Alaric seemed to be easing into the idea of not being so hurt that I needed a wheelchair. However, he was still deeply concerned about my injuries. I walked back over to him close enough so he could wrap an arm around my waist.
"I have a proposition for you," I threw my head back in exaggeration and groaned.
"If you're going to propose that I rest with you, I'm going to have to refuse. I've rested enough as it is." I tried to explain as I sat down on the edge of the bed.
"Haha," he laughed dryly, "no, that's not what I was going to say, but you are staying with me while I get my rest." He remarked as he pulled me down next to him.
"I'll stay, but it's only because I have nothing better to do and you make me heal faster." Alaric gave me a blank stare as he pulled me closer to him and planted a kiss on my lips. He pulled back and peered lovingly into my wide eyes.
"Are you sure that's the only reason you're staying? No ulterior motives?" I smiled and wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him back down for another kiss.
"Shut up and kiss me." His lips were warm as he placed them down onto mine. My hands found their way to his hair only to trail down to his chin where I noticed stubbled beginning to grow. I inhaled his scent as we embraced each other even more. Just when things were getting more heated Alaric pulled away.
"You still haven't heard my proposition."
"I've been waiting." He laughed and brushed my hair out of my face.
"Let's go on a date."
"A date?"
"We've both been through more than enough in the past few days that we haven't had a chance to ourselves." I had to agree with Alaric on this one. Even though I had been at the Obsidian Night pack for five days Alaric and I had never been on a date. I didn't even know basic information about him like his favorite color or food.
"When? Like now because if this is your way of getting out of resting it's not going to work-" Alaric covered my mouth with his hand.
"No, for dinner tonight. I'll set something up. Does that sound reasonable?" I nodded my head, yes and Alaric removed his hand. I began to sit up from the bed, but Alaric quickly grabbed my forearm.
"And where do you think you're going?"
"Ahhh...." I couldn't come up with a reason why I needed to leave.
"We're not done kissing yet."
