"What are you talking about!" Of all the moments for Ashlyn to stop talking she chose the worst moment, now.

"Ash, you can't just say things like that and then stop talking! Finish what you want to say because you obviously have something on your mind." I was fed up with this argument. If she wanted a fight then that's what I was going to give her.

"You are so stupid! You want me to finish, fine, I'll finish. Clover, you almost died! Like dead and gone died and it doesn't seem like you're getting that through your head. You're just moving on with your life and not looking around you to see how your choices affect others! That makes you a pretty bad Luna in my opinion."

"I saw what my choices were doing to those around me. I saw what they were doing to you! That's why I cut you out of the plan!"

"That's just it though! We had a plan! A good plan and you didn't stick to it! This whole situation is screwed up as it is, but right now we definitely don't need you finding the Obsidian Night pack's skeletons in their closet! One problem at a time!"

"So what are you trying to say." I lowered my voice and crossed my arms over my stomach in a defensive position. Ash sighed and walked over to the couch and sat down letting her head fall into her hands.

"What I'm saying is that this isn't some magical quest in a movie or a video game. This is real life and we're not the only players. There's a whole pack out there and their lives are at stake too, but it doesn't seem like you care, because if you did then you would try to understand the backlash that would have accrued had you died that day." I stayed silent as I turned away from Ash. I was angry, so angry at her for calling me out on everything, mostly because it was true. I didn't take the time to think about the other pack members and if I did it was a small thought. I had never considered an outcome with me dying or leaving Alaric and the pack alone.

"Image the chaos that would unfold if something irreversible happened to you and Alaric was still in the dark about everything. You're also the Luna of this pack and yet you've taken not the initiative to be apart of this pack. Alaric tells you, you aren't ready? You simply bow your head and agree with him. This isn't just his pack! It's you're too!"

"Well, what am I suppose to do?! Stand up to him? I don't deserve that, I don't deserve this pack! Don't you think I know that! All the shit I've done, stolen the weapons releasing their prisoner and lying to everyone! I don't deserve to be there Luna! I definitely don't deserve to be Alaric's mate." I didn't want to be weak, this wasn't my choice and I definitely didn't want to be even weaker than I already was, but here I was crying my eyes out. I was being the most pathetic and weak little girl crying for her wolf.

"Clover...." Before I knew it Ash had wrapped her arms around me and pulled me into her tight embrace.

"Why didn't you tell me any of this? We tell each other everything." I bawled into her shoulder as I tried to explain.

"I was just trying to get through each day as fast as I could. The faster we got the weapons the faster everything could be normal, but then I met Castle in the basement and I saw it as a short cut. A way for you to stop lying to Sander an opportunity for me to be able to get my wolf back faster." I was that kind of person, if there was an easier way to do something, no matter the risk involved, I would do it. Get results faster.

"Clover I-" Before Ash could finish what she was going to say the doors to the bedroom burst open by Brett. His eyes furiously scanned the room until they landed on Ash and me.

"We need to go now!" He yelled at us as he marched in with five warriors behind him.

"What? Where? Brett, what's going on?" Before he even tried to explain Brett had my arm in his grasp and was dragging me out the door.

"Is something wrong? What happened? Where's Alaric?" I was getting extremely worried now.

"Rogues are in our boarders, somehow they got in and they seem to be well coordinated."

"So this is a planned attack?" Ash chimed in from behind us, her arms full with the bag of clothes and makeup she had brought with her.

"It seems like it, Alaric went with a few warriors to go check it out the Northwest side that they breached. Alaric ordered me to take you and Ashlyn to the bunker for protection and also to apologize for missing your guy's date." I smiled for a bit at Brett at the thought that Alaric apologizing about the date.

"We're on the Southeast side though, you don't think they will get this far in do you?" Brett looked completely focused on his one goal to get Ash and me to the bunker. His eyes darted around vigorously as we entered onto the second-floor of the packhouse.

"Honestly Clove, I don't know, I'm only following orders. We don't know why a random group of rouges decided to declare war on a pack they clearly couldn't take on..." I interrupted Brett before he could finish.

"Maybe because they're not declaring war?" I mostly just mumbled the idea to myself, I didn't actually think that Brett would have heard what I said. However, he stopped in his tracks and turned to face me, head-on.

"What do you mean by that? Rogues only attack packs to try and invade them over or for supplies."

"Both of which are impossible to obtain by invading the Obsidian Night pack. So, why else would they invade?" The gears in all of our heads seemed to turn together as we tried to figure out the puzzle in front of us.

"Because they aren't invading, they're distracting," Ash uttered, causing us to all turn to her in shock."

"Ash is right if they wanted to invade they would have entered from the southeast," I said, agreeing with her. Only for at that moment a window to shatter inside the packhouse.

"They're here for me. It's the threats that Alaric told me about," Brett's eyes widened as he smacked his forehead with anger.

"Goddess, I should have known! You two go clear the first floor and report back. You three trail back and cover us from behind," Brett ordered the warriors with us. The two bulking men carefully descended down the stairs onto the first floor. Brett, Ash, and I waited in silence. My heart pounding as I clenched my fists as if trying to hold all of myself together. Meanwhile, Ash was clinging tightly onto the bag of clothes and makeup she still carried. Brett, however, stood tall with a fierce sense of strength that made me feel a little more at ease. It was as if he was ready for anything, anything other than what happened next.
