The phone line was silent for a moment, Alaric didn't say anything. To say I was scared right now would be an understatement. With Sander, he was worried about Ash and blamed himself for her running away. With Alaric though, I think he was done blaming himself. This was all on me, I would own up to that much at least.
"Alaric say something," I urged him. If he was just going to keep his mouth shut then I might as well hang up the phone.
"Come back, now." I bit my lip at the anger that came through in his words.
"I can't do that." I heard a low growl on the other end of the line, he was mad.
"Ash and I didn't call you to tell you where we were or even for help. We called you to let you know we are okay and safe."
"You are okay?" He asked with a sarcastic tone in his voice.
"Y-yes." I stuttered out.
"Tell me do you still have bruises on you." I sighed and examined myself, although I couldn't see the ones on the back of my head I knew they were there. There were also a few small cuts and bruises peppered across my arms, not to mention the blue and purple handprint I had on my neck.
"Yes-" I was cut off.
"Tell me where they are, where are you hurt." He breathed heavily into the phone.
"Alaric, I don't think you want to- It's only going to make you-"
"Don't argue with me right now Clover and f*cking tell me where you are hurt." I knew that he was digging his own grave with this question, it would only make him madder that I was injured and he wouldn't be able to be next to me to help me heal faster.
"The back of my head," I began to list off the places the bruises were.
"And how do you get hurt there."
"Alaric-"
"Clover if you're going to be stubborn and stupid to risk your life not returning to the pack than I need to know your exact condition. I regret so much right now not marking you when I had the chance." He seethed into the phone, the comment wasn't meant to be romantic by any means. It fell more along the lines of a threat? No, a promise.
"Okay, fine, a rogues hit my head against a wall," Alaric growled more.
"Continue." I went on to try and explain how I got the small bruises and cuts on my arm and even some on my back. I did my best to avoid the marks on my neck.
"Is that all of them." I hesitated for a second longer than I should have.
"Clover, tell me now."
"I have bruises on my neck, from me I was h-held-"
"Goddess! Clover! Why won't you come home! Why did you run away! WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU!" I didn't even notice I was crying until I felt the cold drops of my tears fall down and soak into the thin pajamas I wore.
"A-alric, please. I'll explain everything once I come home, I'll tell you everything, but I just need one more day-"
"No, you don't get a f*cking day to risk your life, because I promise you, Clover, I will find your way before the day is over. I will hunt you down and drag you back to the Obdisnian Night pack even if you are kicking and screaming. Not only will I lock you in our room, but you will not be allowed to leave until we complete the mating bond. Am I understood."For some reason, I held all the cards in this game and yet Alaric still came out on top. That wasn't how this was going to end though. This wasn't Alaric, he was scared and confused and worried and he was lashing out. He didn't get to make threats or promises to me like that, he was letting his wolf take over.
