The camp passes by too quickly, and before they know it, it's the last night before everyone goes back to their respective schools for the upcoming Nationals.
Atsumu had convinced Sakusa to stay up the whole night with him, because he would miss him once they would separate. Komori the past few days took every opportunity to tease Sakusa, even if it was right in front of Atsumu.
"This man talks about your smile and how he loves it," Komori said, clapping Sakusa on the back and causing Sakusa to give him a glare.
"How sweet, Omi-kun," Atsumu had gushed, and smiled up at Sakusa.
Now, the pair are in their shared room, watching the night sky. Stars are entagled in the dark blanket, sparkling in the midst of all the pitch black. Atsumu and Sakusa share a blanket, and their sides are pressed against one another's, with Atsumu resting his head on Sakusa's shoulder. Mugs of hot choclate rest in front of them, and Sakusa picks his up.
"It's really peaceful here," Atsumu comments, his eyes straining to make out more stars.
"And cold," Sakusa says, slapping his lips together as he sets his mug down again in front of him.
"I wish we lived closer to one another," Atsumu says, shifting his head in order to look at Sakusa. Sakusa shoots the blonde a sad smile. "Me too," he says.
Atsumu smiles at his reply.
He still hasn't been able to get used to Sakusa's agreements to his comments and wishes. He finds it adorable, that a cold person had eventually warmed up to him and embraced him, despite the fact that they are exact opposites.
Sakusa Kiyoomi had touched his heart.
"What are you thinking?" Atsumu asks, shifting his gaze back to the window to look at the star-speckled sky.
"Whether it's going to snow. It's literally 2 degrees and all we're wearing is pajamas and a blanket," Sakusa replies, causing Atsumu to chuckle.
"If you're feeling cold, just say so," Atsumu says, sitting straight and extending his arms out towards Sakusa. Sakusa eyes Atsumu's open arms with curiosity. "You want me to-" "Yes. Lie here," Atsumu says, nodding.
Sakusa hesitantly lowers himself into the blonde's arms, and Atsumu cradles his head, using his fingers to move away the hair covering Sakusa's eye.
The pair once again look back at the window.
Something bright slashes the dark sky, and Atsumu gasps in excitement. "Did you see that?!" he squeals. "Yeah. A shooting star," Sakusa replies.
"Make a wish!" Atsumu says, closing his eyes.
Sakusa closes his eyes too.
"What'd you wish for?" Atsumu cheekily asks, nudging Sakusa's head. "If I tell you, it won't come true. And also, remind me never to let you trust me with my head. I think I'm losing braincells with you shaking my head," Sakusa replies.
"Meanie!" Atsumu exclaims, but continues shaking Sakusa's head. "Miya, I'm not a flipping snow globe!" Sakusa says, swatting Atsumu's hands away from the sides of his face, causing Atsumu to giggle.
Something catches Sakusa's attention, and his gaze moves back to the window. "Tsumu, it's snowing," Sakusa realizes.
Atsumu looks out the window to see snowflakes slowly making their way down towards the ground. "It's beautiful," he comments, smiling.
Sakusa looks back at the smiling Atsumu. "Not as beautiful as you."
Atsumu's eyes widen and he looks down at the smiling Sakusa. "Omi-" "I love you, Atsumu," Sakusa cuts off. Atsumu blinks before breaking into a small smile.
"I love you too, Omi-kun."
The two of them smile at one another, and unbeknownst to them the two of them, they both had wished for the same thing:
To make this moment eternal.
