Music blares from the stalls lining the beach, and customers yell over the music to order their beverages. Atsumu smiles slightly at the sight. He's never seen a beach in this part of town before.
"Do you hear that?" Sakusa asks. "Hear what?" Atsumu asks. They remain silent and Atsumu strains his ears. The song on the speakers change into a booming song, with trumpets as the introduction to the song.
Atsumu smiles.
'Swan, uahage~"
"Your favourite song, right?" Atsumu asks, grinning at Sakusa. "Yeah. Startles the shit out of you at the start of the song," Sakusa replies, nodding along to the song.
Atsumu just watches the usually cold male bob his head along to the song.
"If you don't listen to Kpop, what songs do you listen to?" Atsumu asks. "Oh. I love Ariana Grande. And Conan Grey. And a lot more," Sakusa replies, causing Atsumu to laugh. "And Twice. And OSTs," Sakusa adds.
"Wow. I didn't know," Atsumu says. The pair kick off their shoes and socks, leaving them barefoot as they step onto the sand. "It's been a while since I've been here," Sakusa mutters.
"Because of Waka-waka?" Atsumu asks. Sakusa nods. "I couldn't bear to relive the shame I felt after he rejected me," he explains, looking down as he kicks sand around.
Atsumu presses his lips into a thin line. "Then why bring me here? I can tell this place means a lot to you," he says, looking curiously at Sakusa. Sakusa shrugs. "You mean a lot to me," he replies.
"I do?" Atsumu asks, and his surprised tone causes Sakusa to eye him weirdly. "Yeah. Why are you so shocked?" he asks. Atsumu shrugs. "People don't usually say that to me. My teammates think I'm that arrogant and stupid setter. Osamu thinks I'm shit. So yeah," Atsumu replies, rubbing the back of his neck before looking out at the sea.
Sakusa thinks of something to say; something comforting. He should pat Atsumu's back, or even offer a hug. He opens his mouth to suggest a hug, but all that comes out is, "Do you like to dance?"
Atsumu looks at Sakusa and raises his brows at the sudden change of topic. "I guess?" he replies.
Sakusa grins slightly. "Then we'll dance," he says, before pointing ahead of them.
Atsumu follows Sakusa's index finger and realizes there is a big tent set in the middle of the beach, with people filing in and out of it. "What's that?" he asks. "It's a tent where they play music and you just dance," Sakusa replies.
"You did it with Waka-waka?" Atsumu asks. "No. Waka-waka can't dance for shit," Sakusa replies, grinning even wider.
Atsumu smiles.
"Then let's dance."
