Since Sakusa's condition was getting better, his operating surgeon had deemed him fit enough to breathe without the help of the tube and removed it. While the tube hadn't removed, Atsumu was always beside Sakusa. He was always there to the extent that Osamu had to lock Atsumu's door at night to prevent him from wheeling himself into Sakusa's room in the middle of the night.
Atsumu enters Sakusa's room with no wheelchair, excitement bubbling in him. Sakusa looks at him and smiles, raising his arm and giving the blonde a wave.
"Omi-kun! You don't have the tube anymore!" Atsumu exclaims, smiling back as he nears the bed.
"Yeah," Sakusa says.
Atsumu examines the dark-haired. The dark purple bruises are slowly fading, and the road rash is on the verge of vanishing. Sakusa's arm is still in a cast.
"You look like shit," Sakusa comments, nodding at Atsumu's bruised arms and face.
Atsumu raises his brows. "Me? You should look at yourself. You look worse," he retorts, scoffing. Sakusa smiles. "I know."
Atsumu sits in the arm chair near the bed. "How's the pain?" he asks. "Terrible. And I'm hungry. I haven't eaten actual food in days," Sakusa complains.
Due to the tube, Sakusa wasn't able to eat food and instead, the doctors and nurses had to insert needles containing sugar into his body in order to provide Sakusa's body it needs to help recover quicker.
"Actually, that's why I'm here," Atsumu says, smiling. A nurse enters the room, carrying a tray of food. Atsumu stands and takes the tray for the nurse to be able to lower the adjustable table attached to Sakusa's Hospital bed.
Once the table is secured, Atsumu lowers the tray and places it onto the table. Sakusa's eyes widen as he looks at the huge bowl of ramen. "It's your favourite," Atsumu explains, winking at the shocked dark-haired.
Hunger overtakes Sakusa, and his uninjured arm reaches out, only to be stopped by the needles connected to the machines. Atsumu tuts, taking the pair of chopsticks on the tray and flashing Sakusa a smile.
"I'm feeding you," he says.
Sakusa watches as the blonde uses the chopsticks to drown the noodles into the soup. Atsumu takes the spoon by the bowl and dips it into the soup. He takes it out, pouring a little out back into the bowl before bringing it to his mouth.
"What- You're supposed to be feeding- Oh," Sakusa blushes in embarrassment as he finds out what Atsumu is doing.
Atsumu wants to laugh, but if he does, the soup might spill from the spoon so he just smiles as he blows the hot soup.
Sakusa had thought he was going to eat the meal. How hilarious.
Atsumu puts his hand under the spoon as he brings it towards Sakusa's mouth. Sakusa opens his mouth and Atsumu gently tips the spoon to make the soup fall onto his tongue.
"Is it nice?" Atsumu asks, finally laughing as he blows the ramen while bringing the noodles out of the bowl. Sakusa nods, laughing at his stupidity too.
As the pair laugh, Suna and Osamu watch from the door frame. Osamu smiles as he watches his twin laugh with his crush. "He's finally happy," he says, shaking his head.
"He's always been happier with Kiyoomi," Suna says, nodding.
Indeed he was. But not only was the he happier with Sakusa.
Atsumu and Sakusa are both happier when they are with each other.
