"Komori, can I ask you something?" Sakusa asks. "Pop off," Komori replies, nodding. The pair are currently walking to a cafe Komori would like to go to, and he had promised to treat Sakusa to his usual cup of coffee.
"Do I look like a Squidward?" Sakusa asks, feeling embarrassment creep into his cheeks.
Whenever he took a sip of his coffee yesterday, he either had the blonde's smile in his head or the repetition of the name 'Squidward' in his head. The smile sometimes made him smile, but of course he quickly frowned and chided himself afterwards. How could he think of a stranger's smile?
"Yeah. In fact, I think you're a Squidward kinnie," Komori replies, a slightly bemused expression on his face as he looks at Sakusa. "Why? Did someone call you Squidward?"
"Not exactly," Sakusa says.
For now, he'll keep the coffee secret to himself. And the blonde's smile.
'God, shut up, Kiyoomi,' Sakusa mentally scolds himself.
"Here we are!" Komori exclaims, grinning at the cafe building. Sakusa looks up and his eyes widen as he looks through the cafe's glass doors.
It's the cafe from yesterday.
He can see the grey-haired male manning the counter, barking orders at someone out of view. Then the someone comes into view- it's the blonde. The blonde's face is twisted with scorn as he throws a petty tantrum in front of his twin, folding his arms and stomping away.
Sakusa grins slightly. What a baby.
"Wow, it's crowded!" Komori exclaims, opening the glass door to the cafe.
The cafe is packed with students from different schools, drinking iced beverages, eating cakes and talking to one another. Sakusa shrinks into his jacket. He hates crowds.
Komori makes way as a trio of giggling school girls exit, before weaving in between the tables to an empty table. "Come on, Kiyoomi," he says, motioning for the nervous black-haired male to follow him.
Sakusa follows his friend, avoiding eye contact and lowering his head even further into his jacket. As he sits, Sakusa scowls at the sight of the table in front of him.
Whoever left didn't clean up after themselves, leaving crumbs and their dirty plates on the table.
Sakusa shudders and looks down at his lap. He hates dirty and messy things.
"Chill. They'll clear it soon," Komori reassures, and Sakusa nods but isn't convinced.
"Oop, sorry my dudes!"
A familiar voice causes Sakusa to look up, and his eyes widen in recognition. The blonde barista from yesterday gives Komori a small smile before turning to Sakusa.
Upon setting sights on him, the blonde's small smile immediately widens into a big one, his hazel brown eyes twinkling in delight.
"Squidward!" he exclaims, causing Komori to raise his eyebrows in surprise.
"Shut up," Sakusa mutters, shaking his head. "I get to see you again! This day got so much better!" the blonde chirps, his smile somehow getting brighter.
"So this is the dude who called you 'Squidward'?" Komori asks, a surprised look morphing into a look of mischief.
The blonde looks at Komori. "Yeah! He didn't want to tell me his name so he'll be my cute little Squidward," he replies, causing Sakusa to roll his eyes. "I'm practically taller than you," Sakusa mutters.
"How cute," Komori muses, causing Sakusa to glare at him.
"Tsumu, I told you to clear the plates, not to chit-chat!" the grey-haired from the counter bellows.
The blonde rolls his eyes. He takes the dirty plates from the table and stacks them up, and Sakusa watches in concern. Will the plates fall? What if the blonde injurs himself? What-
Sakusa's brows crease. Why is he so concerned about a stranger?
"In the meantime, can I have your order?" the blonde asks, balancing the cups and plates.
"I've always wanted to try your Hot Chocolate," Komori says. "It's one of the best in Tokyo apparently."
"Yes it is! And for my Squidward, it's a cup of coffee. Just sugar. Right?" the blonde asks, shooting Sakusa another dazzling smile.
Komori giggles at Sakusa's red face. "Yeah. Do you usually remember people's orders?" Sakusa asks. "Nope. Only for my Squidward," the blonde says, winking at Sakusa before whisking the dirty plates away.
Once out of earshot, Komori leans in. "He's cute," he says. He glances back at the blonde. "And hot."
"Hot?" Sakusa asks in disgust.
"Do you not see how hot he looks in a long-sleeved blouse? His huge biceps can be shown through the sleeves- Ouch!" Sakusa smirks as Komori winces in pain from his kick.
"God, I'm so sorry."
The pair looks up to see the gray-haired twin of the blonde's.
"He has a twin?" Komori blurts, raising his eyebrows. "Yeah. The better twin," the grey-haired says, shaking his head as he takes a towel to wipe the table. "My stupid brother forgot to wipe the table."
Sakusa glances back at the counter, where the blonde is making drinks. He has a small smile on his face as he stirs liquids.
How can someone look so-
The blonde looks up and catches Saksua staring.
He smiles at Sakusa, and Sakusa feels his heart race faster by just a little bit.
