"Tsumu?"

Someone shakes Atsumu's arm, startling the blonde as he sits up from his bed. The sudden awakening from his deep slumber causes Atsumu to feel dizzy, and he blinks groggily at the person who woke him up.

"What, Samu," he says.

Osamu sniffs. "You were having a bad dream," Osamu replies, before going to the door.

Atsumu lies back down. "Dream? What-" "You were calling his name," a new voice interrupts.

Atsumu's head turns to the source of the new voice, before realizing Suna is sitting in the arm chair a few metres away from Atsumu. "Suna?" Atsumu asks in surprise.

The usually expresionless male stands, moving closer to Atsumu. Atsumu finds concern pooling in Suna's green pupils as they scan Atsumu's face. "God, Atsumu," he mutters, shaking his head.

Atsumu sighs before looking away. "I know. I look like shit," he says.

Atsumu bites his lip. What time is it? Is the surgery done? Is Sakusa alive?

No. He is alive. Not dead.

Right?

Atsumu looks at his twin, who is leaning against the door frame and looking out at the Hospital hallway. Atsumu realizes how noisy it is- the wailing of children, the cries of people and the shouting of the nurses and doctors over the noise as they try to convey information.

Atsumu turns to the window, which has thin white curtains that does a poor job in preventing the sunlight from coming in.

He makes out a large tree near the Hospital, its golden and red leaves dangling, refusing to leave its branches. How long before winter comes? How much longer does he have to wait to see Sakusa?

Atsumu reaches for his phone underneathe his pillow and turns it on to check the time. Pain grips him as he looks at his lockscreen wallpaper.

Despite the many years Atsumu went through believing that Sakusa had lied to him, his wallpaper remained unchanged. It was the picture Atsumu had taken of Sakusa when they were in the cafe; when he had caught the dark-haired smiling.

Will Atsumu be able to see that smile again?

Tears that Atsumu didn't realize he was holding back starts to fall again. So many tears. So much pain. How much longer?

How much longer before he can wrap his arms around Sakusa?

"Tsumu. Let's go."

Atsumu looks at Osamu and Suna, who stand side by side as they look down at him. Osamu has his hands stuffed into his pants while Suna has his arms folded in front of him. "Go where?" Atsumu asks, blinking slowly before looking away. "I don't want to go to the cafeteria. I already told-" "His surgery will be ending soon," Osamu interrupts.

Atsumu whips his head towards Osamu. "What?"

"His surgery. It'll be ending soon," Osamu repeats.

"Take me there. Now."

(';ω;')

Osamu paces in front of Atsumu, who is sitting on the chair in the waiting venue in front of the Intensive Care Unit. It's 6.48pm, and it's estimated for the surgery to end in 2 minutes.

Two painful and long minutes.

Atsumu grips his hands together. Sakusa will survive. He always does. Atsumu wipes his sweaty hands on his Hospital gown, taking a deep breath. Sakusa will survive.

The doors of the ICU burst open, and a nurse in scrubs comes running out and past Atsumu, Osamu and Suna. "What's going on?" Atsumu asks, standing. The stitches on his left side strains as he stands abruptly, and he hisses in pain.

"Atsumu, slow down!" Osamu exclaims, coming to his twin's aid. Atsumu watches the nurse run back, this time with bags filled with red liquid in hand. "What..." Atsumu processes the scene, and his heart plummets.

Blood bags.

Something is going on.

Maybe it's not for Sakusa.

Yes.

Sakusa is strong.

Atsumu looks at the screen showcasing the surgeries going on in the ICU, and his heart almost stops beating altogether.

There's only one surgery going on in the ICU.

And it's Sakusa's.
