Atsumu gasps as his eyes fly open, panting and trying to take in as much oxygen as he can. The bright white light shining above him blinds him, and it supports the throbbing head he has. Atsumu groans in pain. Everything is painful.
"Atsumu? Tsumu? You there?"
Atsumu squints as he forces his eyes to find the source of the voice. His eyes focus, and he finds a male bearing the exact same face as him staring down at him. Osamu.
"Samu?" Atsumu makes out.
"Thank God," Osamu mutters, shaking his head.
Atsumu groans as he tries sitting up. "No, lie down, Atsumu. Doctor says that you need to rest," Osamu scolds, pushing his weak twin down back onto the bed. Atsumu doesn't fight. He's too weak. He can't even feel his fingers.
"Where am I? What happened?" he mutters, blinking slowly.
"You got into a car accident. Hit and run. Thank God you weren't hurt severely. You just have a few bumps and scratches. Doctor says stitching has to be done. Right now you're in the Hospital," Osamu replies.
Atsumu senses his brother pacing back and forth, so Atsumu lets his mind wander back to what had happened.
He was supposed to mail a letter. And then someone had told him to watch out before that someone had thrown himself in front of Atsumu to protect him.
Sakusa.
"Shit shit shit. Where's Kiyoomi?" Atsumu cries, struggling to get up from his bed. "No, Atsumu! You're supposed to be resting!" Osamu chides, pushing the blonde down again but Atsumu fights back depsite his worsening headache.
"I just got him back! Where is he?!" Atsumu yells, trying to swat his brother's arms away from him. "Atsumu, stop!" Osamu exclaims, gripping Atsumu's shoulders tightly.
Tears pour down Atsumu's cheeks. "Where is he? I-I- He was supposed to be with me! Where is he? I want to see him! I need to see him!" he cries, shaking his head as he continues to struggle against Osamu's strong grip.
"Stop this bullshit, Atsumu! That jerk hurt you! Why should you care!" Osamu growls, anger boiling within him as he watches his twin cry for the male who had caused so much pain for him.
Atsumu stops as he continues crying, shaking his head and letting out sobs.
"Why should you care, Atsumu? That asshole causes you so much pain! You lost so much weight after you saw him with his crush! You stopped eating. You stopped smiling. It's like you lost the ability to function normally! And now here you are calling his name! And for what? Because he so-called 'loves' you?" Osamu snaps.
"You don't understand. That day at the cafe... he rejected Wakatoshi. He didn't... he didn't a-accept the confession," Atsumu explains.
"What?" Osamu asks.
"I-I falsely accused him of l-lying. W-We just made up! We were... we were together! And then... why? Just... God, where's Kiyoomi!" Atsumu wails.
Osamu wraps his arms around his grieving twin, Atsumu letting out heart wrenching sobs as he cries into Osamu's shirt.
"He's in surgery. His injuries were really bad," Osamu finally replies, causing Atsumu to break down even more.
Surgery.
That bad?
Sakusa suffered severe injuries. And for what? For Atsumu? Atsumu shakes his head as he sniffles. Why would Sakusa do that? Why would he want to save Atsumu when all Atsumu did was accuse him of lying?
Atsumu doesn't want Sakusa to leave.
He can't.
He shouldn't.
For if he did, Atsumu would have lost all reason to live.
