Inarazaki High lost to Karasuno.

Atsumu shuts himself into a toilet stall, and he sinks to the ground, his hands in his hair. It's all his fault. His tosses were somewhat sloppy, and even the quick attack with Osamu had been blocked.

It's all because of a dark-haired male occupying a huge amount of his head.

A dark-haired male who had broken his heart into two, who had made him believe that they could be together.

That he would be the Chaewon to his Eunbi.

That he would be the Squidward to the Spongebob.

That he would be the bitter coffee to the sweet sugar.

That he would be there, whether it's at 2am in the morning or random hours in the afternoon.

That he had touched Sakusa's heart.

Atsumu lets out a heart wrenching sob as he cries into his hands. All those times they listened to OSTs, and even planned out which OSTs represented them the best. Was it all just a lie?

Footsteps resound throughout the toilet, and Atsumu stops his loud sobbing.

"Tsumu I know you're in there."

Shit.

"Go away, you liar," Atsumu snaps, shaking his head.

"No. I won't. Until you tell me why the hell haven't you been texting me," Sakusa retorts.

Atsumu lets out a frustrated sigh. "Why should I need to? When you have someone way better to entertain you?" he cruelly asks.

"What? What the hell are you talking about?" Sakusa asks in confusion.

"You don't need to flipping understand. Because you understand completely. So if you would just leave, that would be amazing," Atsumu replies.

"Fun fact, I don't."

"Just go away, Kiyoomi!"

"Did you just call me Kiyoomi?"

"I realized that you don't deserve that nickname anymore."

"What the hell?"

"I honestly thought that we would be able to be more than friends, Kiyoomi. But after what I saw yesterday, it proved me otherwise. Love can really make a person blind. That's what it did to me. I got blinded by loving you that I got hurt. You know, I think you should believe your nightmare. All you do is hurt people you love!" Atsumu snarls.

Silence envelopes the toilet, and all that can be heard is the shuffling of feet.

"I do, don't I? I thought you were different, Atsumu. Someone who understood me. And for the record, I still love you," Sakusa snaps, before walking out of the toilet.

'I still love you.'

Atsumu wants to love Sakusa too.

But he can't.

Because Sakusa had smiled with someone who seemed to be better than him. Someone with more potential of understanding the cold male.

The slow dance comes rushing back to Atsumu, and he remembers the warmth and comfort he felt in Sakusa's arms as they swayed along with the music.

The way Sakusa smiled as his favourite song of I*ZONE.

The way Sakusa made him feel special.

The way Sakusa understood him.

How saddening that their story had to end.

THE END.
