Didnt see it coming || Liam O'donovan

Chapter five

•Riley's POV
Me and Johnny are in the garden as I attempt to teach him how to aim and strike properly when the guy that was playing pool earlier comes up and tells us lunch is ready. As I pick up my stuff my sleeve slightly goes up and I think he caught a glimpse of my arm so I quickly go past him and head inside. I take my bow and arrow up to me and Ninas room then spend like 5 minutes looking for the bathroom. When I finally find it I lock the door and let out a sigh.I was feeling a bit overwhelmed so I splashed my face with water a few times before heading downstairs to the kitchen.
"Oh there you are Riley what kept you" Gina asks
"Got a bit lost" I replied as I take my seat.
"That reminds me,I need to take you on a tour of the place straight after lunch so I can cross it off my list." A boy with black curly hair says.
I just give him a nod and start eating silently while everyone else is in conversation. I look over and see Nina trying to feed that blonde boys toy giraffe and slightly smile at the sight.

•after lunch•
I've just finished eating and this black haired boy wasted no time in pulling me to the front door and starting "my tour" from there. He shows me the piano and informs that he has piano practice every Wednesday. He shows me the living room and kitchen again and then shows the office. We then head upstairs as he starts showing me everyone's rooms. "This is Tee's room. Tee the girl is spelt with T and two e's. Tea the drink is spelled with T,e,a."
"Yeah I kno-"
"NO TALKING ON THE TOUR"
Oops.
Then he leads me to another room next to Tee's and I find the blonde boy and Nina playing together.
"This is Harry's room. Harry has a toy giraffe called Jeff. He thinks Jeff can talk....

He can't."

Then he leads me to another room.
"Sapphires room." He opens the door and I see a girl that looks like she's probably the oldest here and she throws something at the door and yells "GET OUT"
He quickly shuts the door and says "when you open the door without knocking,she throws things. When you knock,she shouts go away." And he knocks on the door to demonstrate. As expected, sapphire yells GO AWAY.

She's such a mood.

We then go on and we walk into a room and see a brunette girl and blonde girl that look like they're best friends. "This was Lily's room,but now it's lily and carmens room since poppy and Rosie moved into Liams old room while he was with his foster family. But then he came back and needed a room so he moved into carmens room and Carmen moved into Lily's room."
Then we go onto Frank's room,Toby's room,poppy and rosies room,Johnny's room,gus's own room,and we finally reach the last room. He opens it and I find the guy that called me and Johnny to lunch and saw a glimpse of my scars. He looks up from his phone at the sight of me and gus. "He taking you on the Gus tour then?"
"Yeah"
"This is Liams room. It used to be carmens room but Liam moved into this room when he came back from living with his foster parents and got arrested and had to re-decorate it cause it was all pink before."
"You got arrested?" I ask in surprise.
"May or may not have been about 6 times" he says casually
"My respect for you just rose massively" I say impressed
"Cheers" he grins

"NO TALKING ON THE TOUR!!"

It's finally night time and everyone's in the lounge but I'm up in my room. It hasn't been a bad first day at all but I can't help overthink everything. I roll up my sleeve and my thumbs trace my scars. I didn't notice anyone come in and jump when I hear someone sit down next to me. I turn around and it's Tracy. I sigh in relief since she's a staff member and already knows why I'm here I was just worried it might be someone else. She must have been able to tell what I was thinking and said "don't worry we haven't told anyone why you're here." I just nod.
"We're all here for you you know." She smiles at me
"Thanks Tracy" I reply with a fake smile
"Hey don't go giving me fake smiles come and have some hot chocolate with me downstairs." She gets up and gestures me to follow her. I can tell that I don't have a choice and she's determined to get me out of the room and being alone so I follow her downstairs to the kitchen. We head in and there's only Carmen and tee talking and Liam and frank eating some snacks. I wait while Tracy's making the hot chocolate and suddenly Carmen asks "hey Riley me and tee and lily are going to get our nails done tomorrow wanna come?"
"No thanks I'm not really into that sorta thing" I reply with a small smile.
"How come?" Tracy asks as she gives me my drink
"Dunno I'd rather play sports and listen to music and pull pranks and explore around the city" I say with a shrug.
Frank looks up and asks "You play any instruments?"
"I play the guitar" I plainly answer
"Wow our third ever musician at the dumping ground" Tracy says and gives me a squeeze
"Who are the first and second?"
"Gus plays the piano and-"
"Yours truly"I look up and see Liam do a silly little bow.
"Yeah Liam plays the guitar too maybe you two should form a band sometime"
I laugh and exit the kitchen and go back to my room and find Nina asleep in bed. I smile and kiss her before heading into my own bed.
