Didnt see it coming || Liam O'donovan

Chapter thirty-six

He handed the box to her and she gave it a little shake.
"Open it" he told her
She undid the bow and lifted the lid off and inside saw two little gold keys.

"What are these for?"she asked "oh damn whatever they're for they could be for a dollhouse and I wouldn't mind they look like they're from those fairytales" she smiled as she shook them to hear their jingle
Liam held back a laugh and said "come on I'll show you what they're for"
Riley put the keys in her pocket and followed Liam out of the arcade.
They walked and walked for about half an hour before Riley asked "care to tell me where we're going that it's taken us a 30 minute walk?"
"What? Can't keep up can you? Too tired? Guess I'll just have to carry you"Liam smirked
"Is that so" Riley scoffed
Before running ahead of him fast as a deer
"Who's the slow one now O'Donovan" she yelled over her shoulder without stopping
"Oh she did not"
He took off after her,not far behind but still not ahead
They kept running like children for about 15 minutes before Riley started to get tired and slowed down to catch her breath for five seconds,panting and moving the hair out of her face
And that was all that was needed for Liam to catch her

•Riley's POV
I stopped to catch my breath and move the hair that had flown into my face out of the way,when all of a sudden he grabbed me and spun me around and pinned me against a tree
We were both panting heavily "quite hard to catch aren't you" he muttered into my neck before he started planting kisses all over
I leaned my head back against the tree and if I thought I was breathing heavily before,well this certainly increased it
His lips moved from my collar bone to the crook of my neck,up to my jaw and up and finally across to my lips
He captured my lips with his own and oh I'll never get tired of this feeling
I grabbed the back of his neck and pulled him closer deepening the kiss
"Not so keen to get away now are you" he smirked against my lips
"Oh shut up"
He pulled away and looked up at the tree he had pinned me too and smiled
"Exactly where we needed to be"
"Huh-"
"Look up" he instructed
I turned around and saw a little wooden mailbox in the shape of a house
In the centre was a keyhole. I smiled as I dug my hand into my pocket and pulled out the keys we had pulled out of the box at the arcade. It fit perfectly into the keyhole. I opened it and inside it was empty.
"This is so bloody adora-"
"Notice anything else?" Liam asked
I looked around and realised with a smile
We were in the woods we went through for the final round in the carehome competition over a year ago,and the same woods we snuck off to on Liams's birthday
With a jolt in my stomach,I realised which tree Liam had chosen for the little box
When we snuck into these woods on Liam's 15th birthday,we came across this tree and made it as our "messenger tree" whenever we pass it without the other,we engrave a message for the other to see whenever they come.
I laughed as I see some of the past messages Liam's left for me
"Our maturity never ceases to amaze me" I smile
Liam chuckled and said "I put this little mailbox to really mark it as our own. Instead of engraving the messages into the bark when we ain't here together we can leave it in the mailbox"

"I love it." I smile
"And I love you"he muttered,pulling me in for a kiss once more

I nailed that history test. Absolutely nailed it. I was walking back from school,paper with a massive "A+" on it, when I arrived and saw

Police cars outside?
What's going on?
I quickly ran inside into Mike's office and-

Oh for fucks sake.

"Hello daughter."
I slammed the paper on the desk and dropped my bag onto the floor
"A+? Oh very well done at least you're not entirely-"

"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING HERE" I shouted cutting him off
"Where's Nina" I automatically asked Mike,not allowing him to answer
"She's upstairs with Tracy and Gina" he muttered face in his hands
"Right,AND WHATS HE DOING HERE"
"We're taking him to the police station we'll discuss everything there"
I jumped as I saw the police officers,noticing them for the first time

"I'm not gonna wait.WHAT IS HE DOING HERE" I yelled
Another police officer walked in and said "I've got Liam sorted-"

"Excuse me?"
She looked to me and Mike said "Riley it's a bit of a long story-"

"I'm listening" I cut him off,burning with rage
