Chapter twenty-two

•Riley's POV
Just another boring old day here in ElmTree. Just sitting watching Telly with Liam when Nina comes up to me and whines "I'm boredd" I can't believe how much she's grown up in the span of these 8 months that we've been here. I feel a total wave of guilt wash over me as I realize that I've been spending less and less time with her recently. She's growing up and I haven't given her my full attention. I mentally smack myself at how dumb I've been. She's going to be three in 4 months. I've got to make it up to her.
"How about I take you into town for some ice cream,then I can take you to play in fun shack for an hour and then we can go watch the new Barbie movie playing in the cinema" I smile at her
"YES YES YES YES!" She jumps up and down and claps her little hands and I smile at how excited she is. I grab our jackets and put some cash in my pocket,say goodbye to Liam,go tell Mike that we're leaving,hold my little sisters hand and head out the door. I first take her into town for some ice cream as promised and order her one large sundae. I don't get one for myself cause I know that she won't be able to finish hers and I'll just have to finish it for her. I take a look at my little sister and burst out laughing at the sight of her face covered in ice cream. I take a picture of her before wiping it off her face. Soon enough she says "I'm full." Wait what? What happened to the cute little "i fwl?" Did she really grow up that much without me realizing? I sighed as I brought the rest of her ice cream in front of me and finished it up for her.
"So little munchkin do you wanna go to fun shack first or the cinema" I ask her
"Fun shack!" She says excitedly.

Fun shack it is then. We catch the bus and sit down a bit near the front. After about 15 minutes our stop is up and we get off and Nina literally runs into the place and gets playing with the other kids. I sit down and set a timer on my phone so I'll know when the hour is up cause I still have to take her to the cinema and arrive home before dinner. I smile as I see her having the time of her life on that bouncy castle. I put my earphones in and put on some music so I can still keep an eye on Nina and not get bored. An hour later and I think there's a single game left in that place that she hasn't played. But hey she deserves it. We're now on our way to the cinema and once we arrive we see that it's closed. Oh damn I forgot they only open from 7pm On Wednesdays.
"I really wanted to see that movie" Nina whimpers and I feel so so bad.
"Tell you what. We'll go to the store now and buy some snacks,then once we go back home after dinner we can make a fort in our room and watch it on Tracy's laptop in our fort with our snacks." I tell her
"YAYYY!" She agrees excitedly and we grab a taxi to go to the supermarket near home. Once we arrive Nina literally buys around £15 of snacks. I'm obviously not gonna let her have all of it at once but it'll be good to have some candy stocked up for when she's feeling down. We go back home and luckily just in time for dinner.
"You two had a good time?" Mike asks
"Yep' I respond as I sit down and tuck into my lasagna.
"Hey wheres Liam?" I ask suddenly noticing the absence of my boyfriend
"He went out with frank. They should have been back by now and they're not on any late passes so looks like washing up duty for those two" Gina informs
"Oh speaking of the devils" Tracy adds as Liam and Frank enter the kitchen "where've you two been?" She asks
"Just poking around" Liam shrugs as he comes and sits down next to me.
"You two had fun?" He asks me as Nina jumps up onto his lap. "Hey little one" he smiles as she hugs him.

I might just melt at the sight.

After dinner

Dinners done,dishes are done, and now Me and Nina are building a fort in our room.

Woah this is one of the best ideas I've ever had. We sit down and I ask her for the name of the movie she wants to watch. I type it in to one of those sketchy websites that show free movies and it sure enough pops up. Never thought I'd say this but thank god for some of these illegal websites where they steal movies without any legal copyright. I get our snacks and click play.

45 minutes later and Ninas fast asleep. I cover her with a blanket,put the snack packets away,and change the Barbie movie to some one direction crack videos for myself. Just then there's a knock on the door.
"Come in"
I look up and it's Liam
"Woah was not expecting this" he laughs quietly since Ninas asleep
"Come join this blanket and pillow paradise" I call him over as I shift some pillows so he can sit comfortably.
We sit comfortably in silence as he joins me in watching one direction on crack.
"You know I've never understood those looks Harry gives Louis while they're performing on stage" Liam frowns
"Welcome to the Larry world my friend. There's no escaping now." I laugh
"Your friend am I?" He raises his eyebrows
"That you are my dear friend" I tease
"Just friend?" He asks
"Just friend" I simply say
"If I was just your friend I wouldn't be kissing you right now" he says
"But you aren't ki-" I frown but he cuts me off as he presses his lips onto mine.

This guy should win the smoothest boyfriend of the year award.

He pulls away and says "you know for just being my friend you certainly do kiss me in a way that I wouldn't expect friends to kiss"
"Such a tease" I mumble as I re-connect our lips

And the rest of the night just consists of us cuddling while watching a few videos and movies,making small talk and stealing a few kisses here and there. I check the time and it's 11:57
"We have school tomorrow we should probably go to sleep" I say
"It's Sunday tomorrow stupid" Liam snorts
"Oh thank god" I say as I fall back into my pillow.
"I have something for you though" he adds
"Hm?"
He pulls a gorgeous bow and arrow necklace out of his pocket and smiles as he moves my hair to the side and puts it on for me

"Liam this is beautiful" I whisper as I press my lips onto his soft ones
"I know you're not a jewelry type of girl but you certainly are an archery girl and I had a feeling you'd like this one" he smiles softly
"I love it" I breathe out "but what's the occasion?" I ask
Just then we hear the clock hit midnight and Liam smiles
"Happy Birthday Riley"

A.N: bit of a short chapter this time sorry :( it was a bit rushed so im not too happy with it.
