Didnt see it coming || Liam O'donovan

Chapter twenty-nine

•Riley's POV
3 days. 3 days since it happened. I haven't gone to school at all. I go to the hospital as soon as I wake up and stay until the evening when Mike forces me to come home. It just feels like living hell seeing him like this. I'm now staring at my bare naked body in the mirror. Tracy forced me to go and take a bath to "put some life back into me" or whatever. I haven't actually noticed my full appearance at all these last few days. I haven't slept for more than 2 or 3 hours out of 72 hours so there are dark circles under and over and all around my eyes,and I look sickly pale. My body looks emaciated. I haven't ate anything other than a banana which Gina forced me to have yesterday either so I'm not surprised. I feel disgusted just looking at myself. I run my hands through my hair and see a chunk tangled through my fingers that fell out. I blink back the tears that were threatening to fall and stepped into the bath filled with warm water and sighed in relief at the feeling. I close my eyes and lean my head back. My hand rests on my abdomen as I re think the words the doctor told me yesterday

"Have you had your period on time these past two months?"
I shake my head as she examines me with a worried look.
"Try and consume more food and water and get more sleep sweetheart. This lifestyle you're living isn't healthy. You might develop Anorexia if you keep going like this"

I feel some anger bubble inside of me. That's all that I need. Add anorexia to the mix. She can shut up she's just looking for more problems in me so she can get more cash. I slightly flinch as I Trace my fingers over the scars on my thighs. I hadn't touched a blade since nearly a year ago when I first attempted. But last night I needed some way to let some of my demons out and I couldn't think of any other way. I didn't do it on my arms so no one could see so I went for my thighs. I cant find any energy to wash my hair so I just wash my body and get out. I wrap my towel around my body and slip on some sweatpants and Liam's hoodie. My eyes sting as I take in it's scent. It smells so painfully like him. I exit the bathroom and head into my room. I yawn and I check the time.
5:027pm
And I flop onto my bed.

•Tracy's POV
"It's dinner time I'll gather the rest of the kids and you see if you can get Riley to come and eat something" Mike tells me in a grim tone
"Third day lucky you suppose?" Gina asks
I sigh and head upstairs and gently knock on her door "Ri?"
When I don't hear an answer I open the door and see her asleep. Oh bless. It's about time that poor girl got some rest. It's definitely a start. Hopefully she'll eat something tomorrow.

•Riley's POV
I feel my eyes flutter open and I literally feel like I woke up from the dead. My eyes shift towards the clock and oh my god it's 4:30pm I've been asleep for 23 hours. Why didn't anyone wake me up. Geez I guess I really made up for losing 3 days of sleep. I head into the bathroom and splash my face with water and head downstairs and find the house empty. Where is everyone? My question is answered as I see a note on the table.

"We all went to the hospital to visit Liam. You could stay home and catch up on some food and rest or catch the bus and come along too. Take care of yourself
-Mike"

I slip on some jeans and to the hospital it is.

•Liam's POV
I did it. My eyes opened. At first I immediately wanted to go blind and have them glued shut again due to the fact that I had forgotten how bright the sun is. When my eyes finally adjusted I looked around and saw a million machines around me and a doctor writing something on a clipboard. She notices I'm awake and smiles
"You're certainly doing better than expected. How're you feeling?"
"Cant feel my own body" I groan
"Well yes,that is expected seeing as you haven't moved for 4 days but you'll get back moving soon" she says as she claps my shoulder (ow) and leaves the room. Just then the door opens and I nearly go deaf at shouts of "LIAM!" and feel them rush over me and hug me all at once
"Woah you lot I ain't come back alive from the dead you know I've only been gone 4 days" I laugh
"Yeah that's 4 whole days without stupid pranks and gross kisses with Riley and winding Mike up" Carmen says
"Yeah and no one to watch footie with" frank adds
"And no one to beat me at pool" Johnny exclaims
"And no one to make me wanna attempt murder" Elektra rolls her eyes and I stick my tongue out at her
"Glad you're awake kiddo" Mike smiles
"Course you are" I respond with a smirk
Nina jumps onto my bed and I wrap my arms around her as she exclaims "I MISSED YOU WIAM!"
"Wiam missed you more" I laugh "Wheres your big sis?" I ask her noticing Riley's absence
"Being a zombie" she responds
"She hasn't had some sleep for a while so we decided not to wake her up" Gina replies and my face falls as I nod. She hasn't had any sleep.
"So erm" Tracy begins trying to change the subject
"How're you feeling?" Saph asks
"I feel fine. Bit dizzy but otherwise fine" I shrug
Just then the door opens and I see my girl walk in in my hoodie which makes me smile
She doesn't look my way though
"How're you feeling" Gina asks her
She shrugs and asks Mike "how is he" in a quiet tone
"Don't wanna ask me yourself?" I call over and see her freeze
She turns around and I see her sad pale face break into a smile as she runs over and throws herself on top of me causing me to make an (oomph!) sound and wraps her arms around me
I laugh as I embrace her and I hear her muffled voice in the crook of my neck mumble "I missed you so fucking much"
"I missed you more"
We stay like that for 5 minutes when I laugh "Um Ri you're kind of on my bad side"
She immediately jumps up "oh my god I'm sorry" she says sheepishly and I'm about to say don't worry about it when Mike asks her "did you eat before you came?"and she shakes her head
"Riley you've only eaten half a banana in four days you need to have something" saph urges her
"Y-you haven't been eating?" I ask as my face falls
"I have" she lies as she averts her eyes and glares at Tracy and Mike.
"Ri" I say simply and she turns around and her eyes meet mine
"Don't look at me like that" she groans
"Eat something. Even if it's something small,not for me for yourself. Please"
I can tell Shes about to argue but when her eyes meet mine she just silently nods and leaves the room and goes down to the cafe.
"I'll go with her to make sure she actually eats" saph says and goes after her
Another doctor enters the room and says "all seems to be going well. How are you feeling Liam?"
"I'm a bit dizzy but fine otherwise" I reply
"That's perfectly normal. We'll discharge you tomorrow"

Finally.

•Riley's POV
Me and Saph enter the cafe and the waiter hands me a menu.
"I'll just get a chocolate bar" I say
"Er no you won't just get a chocolate bar" saph glares and I roll my eyes
"Fine I'll get a sandwich"
"She'll have two sandwiches thank you" saph tells the waiter and he nods and leaves as I groan
