•Riley's POV
My final classes of the term were over. Christmas break took it's sweet time but it had finally arrived. There was also the barbecue at the dumping ground later which definitely added to it. I had about an hour till I had to be there so I headed into town to get started on some Christmas shopping and grab a coffee. Costa was my first choice, and once I entered the place and got hit by the smell of hot chocolate,my desire for coffee jumped out of the window and got replaced with a need for some hot coco. I love this part of the city during December,it's so festive it makes me feel so warm and fuzzy inside, and the smell of the hot chocolate definitely increased it. I decided to sit down and enjoy it in the shop while scrolling through my phone,I hadn't been on it in a while for anything other than phone calls. As I was scrolling through Twitter and enjoying my hot chocolate, the door opened, hitting me with the outside chilly breeze. Sitting in a warm chocolate scented Costa,I had completely forgotten how cold it was outside. According to the weather app it would snow next week but i didn't wanna get my hopes up. Anyway-the door opened and sure enough it was Frank and his best friend. Frank made his way over and Liam shuffled behind with his hands in his pocket.

•Liam's POV
I shuffled behind Frank awkwardly,as he made his way over to where she was sitting. She was wearing some blue light glasses which were a bit big but suited her face well. She looked like a cuddly panda with them on and a red scarf covering her neck. Frank ordered our drinks before turning to her
"Riley! Settle this for us-is this joke funny or not. What do you call an angry french aunt?"
"What?"
"A crossaunt"
She choked on her hot chocolate and began coughing,as Frank patted her on the back. When she stopped, her eyes were watery and her face was red. It was adorable.
"If that cough attack wasn't answer enough,I don't know what to tell you Frank." She said, her voice slightly raspy from the blisters she probably got from choking on the hot chocolate.
"You people don't know how to appreciate fine humour" Frank rumbled as he took our drinks from the server and I patted him on the back. "We should go,we've got some scamming to do. Wanna join?" He asked her as I mentally facepalmed
"Nah I haven't done that in a while."
"Well aren't you becoming a boring adult" Frank raised his brows
"Wasn't I the one that double scammed a dude you failed to scam the first time round to get you out of trouble a few weeks ago?"
"Yeah yeah" Frank rolled his eyes "you are coming to the barbecue later aren't you?"
"Wouldn't miss it" she replied with a sip of her hot chocolate. I bit back a smile at the bit of whipped cream on her nose.
"We're gonna go,see you later" he waved to her as he turned around
"Bye Frank"
She looked up at me for a sec,and I couldn't bite back a small smile this time. She seriously did look like a panda. She didn't smile back, but gave a small nod as she turned back to her phone. That was about as much that could be expected really,I though as I left the shop with a sip of my coco. Costa never fail with the chocolate orange.

•Riley's POV
The waiter addressed me and I looked up to see him holding up a pair of earphones "these fell out of your friend's pocket, could you return them to him so they don't get chucked." I felt like screaming. They definitely weren't Frank's so they were definitely Liam's. The waiter slightly raised his brows and I quickly took them from him with a small thanks. I finished the rest of my hot chocolate and left the cafe, putting his headphones in my backpack. I had a backpack with me as Nina had apparently begged Mike and Gina to have me stay at the dumping ground over Christmas break-who was I to refuse those puppy dog eyes she makes?
There was a Waterstones nearby and I decided to check it out. I hadn't read a book that hadn't anything to do with university in ages,I deserved a good fantasy novel. As I approached Waterstones I could see they had my book on the window display-I bit back a smile. I hadn't agreed to every asked interview but the ones I did agree to were all on the radio, and I had asked the publishers not to include any pictures of me. Just because people enjoy my writing doesn't mean my day to day life should change. Which is why I couldn't help a smile when the shop assistant came up to me and recommended my own book to me. She had no idea. Anyway,I picked up a book titled "Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard" which I already liked from the title and blurb, then saw that I had spent way too much time browsing through the bookstore and had to be at the dumping ground in 15 minutes.
