Didnt see it coming || Liam O'donovan

Chapter Ten

•Riley's POV
It's the day of mikes hearing and we're all having breakfast while feeling really nervous.
"Liam,Frank and Harry haven't come down yet does anyone know where they are" Gina asks
"At the Town Hall" Gus simply responds.
"WHAT" Tracy yells as she runs out the door. Any other time I would have cursed the idiots for running  in on such an important hearing that basically decides whether Mike will get to keep his job or not, but honestly I'm glad they've went. The council really doesn't know how important Mike is to any of us and if there's anyone that could yell some sense into their thick heads it's Liam. I've only been here for a little over a month and I'm not that close to him but for some reason I feel like I could trust him with my life. And the others here. Carmen,lily,and Tee are all like my younger sisters and sapphire is like my older sister. I really miss Toby he was like my little brother but I'm glad he got fostered. Harry and Nina are practically tied to the hip and honestly there's nothing I would do for Nina that I wouldn't do for Harry. Without Gus around I feel like I'd lose track of my own name. Frank is also like a brother to me. Johnny's not bad either but I'm still mad at him cause of yesterday. And honestly Mike and Gina are like the parents I never had and Tracy is the perfect chaotic big sister. My thoughts are interrupted when Nina asks me to go play outside with her. We head outside and I help out with dolly's tea party or whatever. Just then I see Tracy,Liam,Frank and Harry come back. I run up to them and ask how'd it go. Tracy just shakes her head and my face falls in disappointment. Liam gently pulls me to the side by my uninjured hand and says "listen if Mike doesn't get through ive got a backup plan but I'm gonna need your help cause you're the only one around here that actually knows her stuff"
"Sign me up" I say without any hesitation.
And with that he goes inside and I go back to playing with Nina.

•Tracy's POV
I run all the way to the town hall and have to force those three to leave. But not before I also yell my bit at those council cowbags. I'm just so worried about Mike. We head back and Riley runs up to us and asks us how it went. I just shake my head and then I see Liam gently pulling her to the side and quietly telling her something and I hear her agree to whatever he just told her. They better not be up to something mikes already in enough trouble as it is. But not gonna lie the way that Liam took her uninjured hand and pulled her aside so gently made me smile. Liam's always been a bit wild,a scammer, a prankster, never took any interest in a girl,practically pukes when seeing frank crushing on someone. But I have a feeling things are going to be slightly different when it comes to Riley.

•Liam's POV
I gently pulled Riley aside by her uninjured hand and I don't even know why but I felt slight butterflies when I did so. I told her that I have a plan for if Mike doesn't get through and she instantly agrees. With that I go back inside and she goes back to Nina. I can feel Tracy watching me so I just go sit down at the kitchen table with the others waiting for lunch. Riley and Nina come in too and we're all impatient for Mike to come back as Gina puts lunch on the table. Just then Mike walks in with Lianne and me and Riley both coldly go "what's she doing here". Just then Harry throws a tomato at Lianne's face but she ducks and it splatters over mikes face and we all burst out laughing.
"Come to say goodbye?" Saph asks
"Actually,no" Mike says and we all tense up.
"Thanks to Liannes report the disciplinary panel found in my favor" he grins
We all cheer and Riley and frank both give me a high five from each side.
