Chapter twenty-three

•Riley's POV

"Happy Birthday Riley" i looked up at his smiling face and bright eyes
"Wait what?" I say in confusion
I check the calendar and "holy shit I FORGOT ITS MY BIRTHDAY"
He laughs at my forgetful butt and says "I know you did. Which is why I thought I'd you know,kinda remind you that you're now 15"
I chuckle and just then my phone rings

•Liam's POV
I find it kinda hilarious that she forgot her own birthday. She picks up her phone and says "hello?"
Even though her phone wasn't on speaker,it felt like the voice on the other side of the phone was screaming through a megaphone
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY RILEYYYYYYYY"
"Oi you prat Nina's sleeping" she hisses and I snort at how much of a mother she is
"Sorry sorry I just wanted to be the first person to wish you a happy 15th" the voice on the other side apologizes sheepishly
"Thanks hun but I'm afraid Liam already beat you too it" Riley laughs
"Riley I hate your boyfriend" the voice says dryly and I snort
"Tough cause I love him" she sniggers (my heart did a little flutter and I looked out the window to hide my flushed cheeks)
"What happened to ew I hate boys? I'll text you tomorrow birthday g bye bye"
"Byeee" and she hangs up
"Let me guess,that was Lydia" I laugh

"Oh you guessed it"
I'm still staring out of the window gazing at the street lights when I feel Riley's eyes on me. I turn around to look at her and she's standing with her hands in her pockets and her head leaning on the wall and just staring at me with a small but sad smile and her eyes aren't teary,but they've got emotion in them.
"What's up?" I ask
"It's nothing" she dismisses as she also turns to gaze out the window.
"No come on tell me" I press gently
"Well it's just that..."
I wait patiently for her to say what's on her mind

•Riley's POV

Clouds are so soft I love them. Just then a white pure unicorn comes up to me and my soft warm cloud with a message in a bottle. I open it and it's my hogwarts acceptance letter. Oh the blessings this warm soft cloud has brought me mmm-

I wake up to a ton of water being splashed onto me disturbing my slumber and amazing dream. I sit up and cough my heart my lungs out and rub my eyes to see my little sister giggling at the sight of me.
"Right you little-"
"IT WASNT MY IDEA LIAM TOLD ME TO DO IT" she screams and runs out before I get my hands on her. Oh of course it was Liam's idea. I sigh and get up to go shower. As I'm in the shower washing my body,I reach my arms and notice that my scars are starting to go from a light pink to white. I really don't know how that makes me feel. Confused I guess? I know it's a good thing it's just that when I look back on the intentions that gave me those scars and my life before I got them,I feel really lost. Ever since coming to ElmTree I haven't had to deal with people dragging me down or losing my whole life over looking after Nina. I still struggled with depression,had a panic attack and got diagnosed with anxiety and got prescriptions for medicine. I have an amazing boyfriend that's never let me down once and always shows that he's there for me and understands my mind,however I still really struggle most of the time. I get out of the shower and put on some sweatpants and an oversized hoodie,not bothering to dry my hair. I go downstairs for the kitchen and Tracy smiles at me "happy birthday Ri" as she puts my pancakes in front of me
"Thanks Tracy"
"What are your plans for today?" Mike asks
"Nothing just gonna be hibernating in my blankets" I respond
"No you won't you'll be on a sur-" Carmen begins but everyone yells at her "SHUT UP CARMEN"
I roll my eyes and finish the rest of my pancakes before going back up to my room into my pile of blankets. I grab a random book and enter the world of narnia through the pages. At around two o'clock,Lily enters my room.
"Hey lily I didn't know you were here" I smile at her.
Lily went to live with her dad a while ago and I haven't seen much of her since then but it's always nice when she pops round. Which is actually quite often since she and Carmen are attached at the hip it's just that most of the time I'm out when she comes round.
"Couldn't not come annoy you on your birthday now could I?" She rolls her eyes
I snort as I go back to reading my book when she snatches it from me and throws it to the side
"OI I WAS READING THAT!"
"Not anymore you're not" as she drags me onto my feet and I groan and flop back onto my bed
"Stop being such a drama queen" she says as she pulls me back up and puts a blindfold on me.
"Are you blindfolding me to kidnap me to the hunger games or something" I say sarcastically
"Something like that" she replies as she holds my hand so I won't fall,although purposely makes me bump into a wall. Damn you lily kettle. She holds my hand as we go downstairs and pulls me along the hall. Then when we finally stop she takes my blindfold off and I literally squint my eyes and back into the wall at the sound of-
"SURPRISEEEEEEEEE!!!!"
I open my eyes and see that the living room is decorated lavishly and there are snacks on the table and there's a banner written
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY RILEY"
I break into a big smile as Liam pulls me into the living room. This is the first birthday party of my life,and I didn't even organize it. I love these guys. Gus comes up to me with his notebook (typical) and asks
"How old are you turning"
"15" I reply shortly with a sip of Liamade.

"So that means you'll be leaving here next year"he writes down
"Genius sherlock" Carmen replies as she pulls me over to the cupcakes
