School was finally at an end, and I walked up to Madame Kyra's desk. Yes, Madame. She was from Paris, and she was used to being called in a fancy manner.
"Madame Kyra?" I asked as she looked up at me.
"Hello, Megan dear! Did you need something, dear?" She asked in a polite manner. Madame Kyra was all about being polite.
"Yes. I wanted to tell you that I can't attend class tomorrow because I have a therapy session. I was wondering if I had any work to make up?" Madame Kyra started to flip through pages in her fancy pink binder as I finished my sentence. She took out two packets, and my eyes bulged. Two full packets to finish in one day for French?
"Okay. All I'll need from you is to finish these packets by next week. Alright?" I sighed and then took the packets from her. Thanking her, I left the pink classroom. Before going home, I ran into FeiFei and Jessica. How lucky of me.
"You're doing therapy? Are you a psycho or something?" FeiFei laughed meanly. Great. Just another way to end my day. Jessica laughed with her.
"Yeah. Try to be normal, Meggie." Meggie was my least favorite nickname in the world. Then and there, I wished my brother was still here. He would defend me. But he wasn't anymore.
"Oh, you know she doesn't like that nickname, Jess. Isn't it Megmonster?" FeiFei and Jessica ended up guffawing super loudly, and I felt my stomach twist.
"I have to go." I pushed past the both of them, and I walked out the door. However, I could still hear them yelling mean names at me.
"Bye Megmonster!"
"Meggie, better be at school tomorrow!"
"Shut up!" I yelled at them, but it was no use. They probably couldn't hear me. Covering my ears, I started to walk home. I felt a presence next to me.
"Why are you covering your ears, little sis?" My sister, Janice asked. I didn't have the strength to answer her. Why bother? Not answering, I stormed ahead. "Megan! Megan! Where are you going?" I stormed down the sidewalk until I reached Molly's Ice Cream. I felt tears starting to sting. Janice caught up and stared at the shop.
"I miss him so much, Jan." I sobbed into her shoulder as she hugged me tightly. She patted me on the back.
"I do too, Megan. We'll see him soon, I promise." She kept patting me, but I couldn't stop. At one point, I started to feel faint. "Meg? Megan, are you okay?" And that's the last sentence I heard before my life went black.
