Chapter 30(Final Chapter)

There were footsteps near me. My head was buried between my legs, and I didn't want to check who was near me.

"Megan." Daniel's voice was soft yet sharp. "Did I just witness a cheating scene?" I heard him yelp, which I assumed that Arianna or Josie did. "What? It's true!"

I got up from my position and slapped Daniel across the face. There were gasps from Arianna and Josie. "Cheating? I just got touched by a boy without consent and you're saying what? That I cheated? You have to be kidding me."

"Did you just... hit me?" Daniel asked incredously. "I'm your boyfriend, Megan."

"You sure aren't acting like it," I snapped back.

Our three friends stood by us with worried faces. The two of us had never had so much tension in our relationship.

Suddenly, another figure appeared from the back, and pulled on Daniel's arm.

"Tomodachi!" She cried, and kissed Daniel on the cheek. The other four of us froze. "Nisan ga matte iru!" I identified her to be saying 'Friend, older brother is waiting." Her Japanese was not grammatically correct, to be completely honest. But nevertheless, I was too shocked to react in any way.

"Imoto, watashi wa sugu ni soko ni imasu." He replied in a quick sentence, as if he wanted to get it over with. She frowned and started to drag him towards the gate, in which he followed without fight.

Once he was gone, my legs lost its power and I collapsed to the ground. Arianna and Theo rushed to my side to check if I was okay. Meanwhile, Josie glared at the direction Daniel went.

"He's such a jerk. Who even is that..." She suddenly trailed off. I turned to the direction to find out why she stopped talking, and once I saw, I almost stopped breathing.

Daniel... my boyfriend who may as well be my ex now, was passionately kissing the girl in the corner.

He must have his reasons, I told my panicked self. But why? He didn't normally act this way. I took my head in my hands and sobbed harshly for the second time of the day. Did he find out? I was going to tell him today...

Find out what, you may say? Well, two days earlier...

"It's reliable." Jennie said as she typed into her computer. "I asked Soeun. She said it's one of the top Korean Entertainment companies, Megan. It's honestly a great opportunity... whether its a bribe or not."

"Why do you look so glum then?" I questioned.

"I may or may not have already booked your flight ticket," she said with a whisper. "But! Before you get mad at me, let me just tell you that you're taking first class, with my approval."

I turned away from the screen.

"Come on, Megan! You can't be sulking around like this forever-"

"I'm not sulking around! I finally made friends and even have a boyfriend, can't you see? I'm happy." I took a deep breath. "So why would you just assume that I'm the same as before and then book a ticket?"

Jennie looked at me with pity and sadness in her eyes. "Just go. Go for at least a couple months, and if you don't like it, I promise I will buy your ticket back. I will pay for every cent, hm? Please?"

I sighed. I couldn't stay mad at Jennie for a long time, and she knew that. "Fine."

"Yay!!!!" She squealed like a little kid. "I knew you'd cave!"

I brushed my hair back and sighed again, knowing that maybe it was for the best. Ding! I head a message pop up on my phone.

My Messages:

[Boyfriend] It's better if we forget about our relationship now. I'm sorry that it's so sudden, and that I sound cold, rude, and selfish. But trust me, it's for the best.

[Megan] It's funny how you think I would still trust you.

[Boyfriend] Megan. Please stop making this harder than it already is.

[Megan] I'm leaving on Saturday.

[Boyfriend] You're that mad?!

[Megan] No, I booked the ticket two days ago. But I was planning on telling you today. I'm going to South Korea.

There was a pause.

[Boyfriend] I can't believe you didn't tell me right away.

{Megan] I can't believe you kissed that girl when I was right in front of you.

[Boyfriend] Just stop, Megan. Let's take a break.

[Megan] What is there to take a break from when we're already over?

[Boyfriend] I love you, Megan. I still do and I still will. But we're not meant to be. I hope you enjoy your new life.

[Megan] You too.

I clicked my buttons and went over to settings.

Change 'Boyfriend's name?

Yes.

Boyfriend- Daniel.

I said goodbye to everyone. Getting situated in my seat, I new I was flying to a new place. And a new life.

I loved everyone dearly, and I still will. And truth to be told, I won't stop until I have proper answers.

But maybe Jennie is right. Maybe I do need to take a break from everything.

But one thing is for sure.

Daniel wasn't only a boyfriend.

He was someone who understood me.

And one day, if fate allows it, we will be back to together.

Not only us, but everyone.

My family.
