The next day, I ignored everyone until fifth period, since I had biology with Ella, and Ella wouldn't stop bothering me.

"Class, I'm splitting you into study groups. Each group will have four members. Since you are already on the chromebooks, I will send each of you an email." Mr. Teo said happily. How could a teacher be so happy? Around three minutes after he said this, I got an email. "Megan, Ella, Theresa, and Katie are Group 5." Theresa? The one that had been the one to turn all the hate onto me first? No way. Since everyone had gotten their email at the same time, I found Theresa glaring at me. "Please get into your groups, please." Moving around the chairs, I found myself at a table with three other girls.

"Alright, so I think we're supposed to be going over photosynthesis." Katie flipped through her notebook. "So let's do the first question. Before-"

"No. Since Mr. Teo isn't even looking over, let's gossip." Katie frowned. Of course, gossip was not Katie's cup of tea.

"But-" Katie tried to protest, but Theresa already had Ella's attention. Ella was leaning forward, and I could tell she had her ears wide open.

"Did you know that Yana's older brother got kicked out of high school for fighting? Man, I feel bad for her. She must have been really sad. After all, we can all tell that her brother is a psycho." I couldn't sit there. Not while she talked trash about my brother in a twisted way. I got up, ready to leave. "Oh, where are you going, Megan? Oh never mind. You must be super upset cause your brother is a psycho too." I looked back at her, and Theresa was sitting back with a smirk on her face. How could she? She crossed a line this time. I crossed my arms and sat back down. But as she opened her mouth to speak again, I fired an insult right back at her.

"Oh, what about your little sister? Such a depressed incident that she got expelled from school kicking a girl's life out of her." I glared at her while talking, and Theresa looked shocked. Maybe it was because we had made a vow to never say each other's promises. But if Theresa broke it, so can I.

"You promised!" Theresa yelled at me, getting up from her chair. Mr. Teo looked around to see what the ruckus was, and when he spotted us, he started to walk over.

"What is going on over here?" He demanded. Theresa started to cry fake tears, and Mr. Teo looked over at me. "Megan? Care to explain what's happening?"

"Well, she started to talk trash about my older brother. And she expects me to sit here saying nothing while she insults my family." I practically growled while explaining. Mr. Teo looked between me and Theresa, and then looked over at Katie and Ella.

"Is her story true?" Katie and Ella stayed quiet. I looked at them, shocked. Were they just going to sit there?

"I'm friends with you, Meg. But I'm not really sure how what Theresa was saying relates to you." Ella said, and Katie nodded with her. I looked to the side, trying not to cry.

"Alright, since this seems like a girl argument, I'm going to leave this as it is. But if I ever see another fight, all of you will be heading towards the office." Katie gasped. I bet SHE never had a detention, or had to go to the office. Mr. Teo walked away, and Katie looked towards me.

"This is all YOUR fault, Megan!" Katie shouted at me. I just stared at her.

"Sure. It's MY fault. Before you say uncoordinated words, why don't you work on your grammar?" I fired right back, and Katie blinked.

"Whatever. I can't believe I'm even stuck with the psycho's sister." That did it. I got up and slapped her across her face. Mr. Teo was coming over, but I didn't care. Nobody talked bad about my family. They could say bad things about me, but not my brother.

"My brother isn't a psycho. How many times do I have to tell everyone? You can blame me, but you can't say anything to my brother. He didn't do anything wrong! Besides, don't you have any conscience, you believe what you hear, and not what you see. Why am I being hurt for this?" I yelled at not only Katie, but everyone else that was listening. Mr. Teo arrived at the table and held me back from hitting Katie again.

"Megan, please stay after class. I need to talk to you. Meanwhile, why don't I place you in another group?" He brought me over to a group with two boys and two girls. I had never seen or met any of them. I sat down and lowered my head onto the desk, trying to stabilize my breath.

"Hey, are you okay? We saw what just happened." A girl with pretty green eyes spoke to me. I looked up to see everyone staring at me.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I've never seen you around. Are you new?" I asked the four.

"Yeah, we're all friends. But we have weird families. If one family wants to move, so does the other. It's kinda weird." She smiled and spoke as the others stared at me.

"I don't think it's weird at all. It's good to stick by others." As I finished my sentence, I turned to stare at everyone in the room. Everyone's attention was stuck somewhere else, except for Ella who was staring right at me. I rolled my eyes and turned back around. "So which question were you guys on?"

"We were on question five. We had a lot of different opinions, but since we have five people, we can finally vote on answers." The second girl with black hair and purple tips said.

"Shouldn't we introduce ourselves first? Like this. I'll go first." The girl with green eyes turned to me. "I'm Arianna."

"I guess that's a good idea. I'm Theo." The boy that was wearing an Adidas hoodie said. Or maybe I should just call him Theo now.

"I'm Josephine, but don't call me that. Call me Josie." The girl with purple tips said.

"I'm Daniel. And call me Daniel." Daniel was the last boy.

"Cool. You probably already know me. I'm Megan, and I'm probably the school's biggest joke right now." While introducing myself, I looked down while drawing circles with my finger on the table.

"That girl was mean. Don't think that way. Anybody could see that she was faking those tears." Josie rolled her eyes. "Anyways, back to question five now that we all know each other. How do you get NADH?"

"Easy. You write NADH on the paper." Theo answered, and laughed with Daniel. I couldn't help but smile. It was so easy being with them.

"Theo! Focus! You obviously have to reduce NAD+ to get NADH." Josie laughed quietly while answering the question. The remaining thirty minutes of class time went very quickly while discussing with them. At the end of class before I went up to Mr. Theo's desk, Arianna asked me a question.

"Do you want to hang out with us after school today? We're meeting at that place called Sheu's Donuts? I think that was the name." Arianna asked while grinning.

"Sure. I'll join. What time?"

"4:00 sharp. We'll see you then!" Arianna and the rest left the classroom, and I sighed while going up to Mr. Teo's desk.

"Mr. Teo? You wanted to see me?" But as I looked at what he was reading, I saw that it was my brother's file. Sighing, he looked up.

"It was nothing. You can go, Megan." And there it was again. Pity coming off for what happened from my brother. I hated it. I didn't want that sort of treatment. But since he told me to leave, I did.
