KINGSLEY PRODUCTS INC. LABORATORIES

The front of the lab building was filled with sirens and police shatter. A lot of discussing the event that had unfolded. Firefighters and emergency contractors tirelessly tried to clear the wreckage and put out the fires. Captain Stacy and his officers were in the process of reviewing security footage to identify the intruders. Kim and Ron were also on the scene, but unlike the police, they had their own way of looking at the footage. From a camera position near the spot, they pinned Spider-Man on the side of the wall, a clear shot and image of the one intruder that took his mask off. Both their eyebrows rose in shock, "Senor Senior Sr.!" It was indeed the senior of the villainous duo that had claimed that they were nothing but friends with Mr. Kingsley.

"So, the Seniors were behind this the whole time?! Deng!" Ron said. Kim shared his shock and disappointment in his voice. "No kidding! We had them right there at the beach, and we let our guard down."

"This is like... what- the second time they've been able to fool us with their civil behaviors," Ron asked, remembering back to one of their missions from high school. "Well, they won't get past us again. But right now, we need to find them. They have the plans of the experimental compound and we need to get them back."

"I'm with you, KP. Just one question..." Ron said, "when we do find them, how the heck are we going to get past their... their..."

"Terrible Wonder Wheel!?" a young snarky voice came from above. The two sleuths looked up to find a costumed Spider-Man hanging upside down. "Yeah, that does seem like a problem for a couple of amateur crime fighters."

"Spidey!" Ron exclaimed. "What's up, dude!?"

"Oh, you know," he said, "just hanging around, being as friendly to the neighborhood as I can be. You guys?"

"Only doing what we have been doing for the past five years" Kim answered. "So please don't call us amateurs." She spoke confidently, knowing that the web-slinger was probably making playful banter, as per usual. Ron was quick to join her on this correction. "Eh, she's got a point. We've even fought aliens."

"Oh, so have I. Maybe we should start a club" the superhero quipped. "By the way, read the article in the Bugle this morning, Possible. Tough break."

Kim squirmed in her face at the thought of the outlandish libel that had been used in some ways out of context. "I imagine that you've seen tougher?"

"Eh..." the web-slinger sighed, "I expect nothing less from good ole' Pickle Puss. It just makes me smile that one day he'll actually like me."

"With banter like that" Kim commented, "how could anybody not?" The tone of her voice kept her intentions up to interpretation. Not really revealing if it was just being sarcastic, or complementary. Spider-Man just thanked her as if it were complementary and continued to his point of cutting into their conversation. "Anyway, I couldn't help but overhear. You're familiar with these maniacs."

"I wouldn't call them maniacs; I would call them..."

"KP," Ron cut her off, "they're bi-zillionaires with money to spare that choose evil villainy as a hobby, and you don't think that's manic?"

"That's their MO? Geesh!" Spider-Man commented. "And here I thought no super-villain I've faced could have gotten any stranger."

"Okay, so maybe they're a little bit like maniacs. So what? We can take them down again. No problem."

"Not unless they can fool you into thinking something is there" the costumed hero spoke, to which Kim and Ron looked up to him in curiosity. "They had a chance to kill me, but they didn't. They made it look like they had sent a missile to blow me up. It turned out to be a holographic projection or illusion to fool me. To keep me distracted while they escaped. It seemed odd" (And a little too familiar.)
