KIM AND RON'S HOTEL

Kim and Ron retreated to their hotel after their visit with Captain Stacy. It was getting late and they were tired after such a long day. Ron was eager to take a swim in the hotel's indoor pool, as was Rufus. Kim thought it was okay, that they all needed a chance to relax and enjoy themselves for a while. When they returned to their suite, Ron excitedly gathered his swim trunks and a few towels from the bathroom and rushed out before Kim could tell him that she would be down after she talked with Wade a bit.

"So, what did the officer say?"

"That he would like to make his own appointments" she said coyly. Wade smiled shyly, as if he felt guilty for inconveniencing an officer of the law with his time. "He wasn't mad about it, but he didn't give much of what we needed. Well, except for Ron, he got exactly what he wanted."

"Well that's good!"

"Yeah... but I still want my answers."

"Speaking of answers" the young black man said as he strokes some keys, "I found some of the side effects of Mr. Kingsley's compound." Within seconds a digital display of the compound effecting parts of the mind and muscles starting simulating what would happen if someone were to be exposed. "According to off-the-book records, the tests conducted involved the subjects frantically screaming and later recalling of the horrors they saw in their head. As if they were living out their worst nightmare. Other subjects lost the ability to move, practically having a massive seizure."

"Sounds like a psychopath's perfect tool to torture someone" Kim commented.

"A good way to be certain that anybody that tries to get in their way doesn't interfere, too" Wade finished.

"UH HUH! UH HUH! I'M BAD! THEY SAD!" Ron continued cheering to himself. He was still very excited about being right about Spider-Man being a hero. It filled him with such pride that he felt like he could do no wrong. He dipped his toes into the hot tub, only to slide slowly in as his body felt at ease in the warm water. Rufus took up his relaxation in the pool, laying out on a kiddie sized floatie. He had pair of sunglasses on that were just his size and a tanning mirror in his little paws to help him tan. If anyone could have seen him there, they would have said he was the coolest naked mole rat in the world.

"I gotta tell you, Rufus. I wish I could feel this great everyday" he said to his buddy. "Heck, I wish most people could feel this great. Y'know. Like, why would anybody what to fret about all the bad in their life. Like that Parker kid. The poor guy is probably wallowing in his own tears because he let that girl go."

It didn't take too long for Ron's mind to stir up an idea with the amount of enthusiasm and confidence he had. He smiled wondrously at the thought in his mind. "I should help him try to win her back! I mean, we both seem to come from the same sub-group of high schoolers, even if I was much cooler than he is. And I was able to get a pretty awesome girlfriend, so I should help him see his own potential." Rufus agreed with Ron, and they decided to pay him a visit sometime. "We should have Wade look up his address for us."

Some more time went by as they silently relaxed in their positions. Kim soon joined them. "Enjoying yourself?" she asked, hoping that Ron was after such a big day. He answered with his eyes closed, contently basking in the memories and feelings of the day. "Yep! I sure am!" Kim smiled, placing her things on a pool chair behind Ron, then turned to join him in the steaming jet-propelled water. "Mind if I join you?"

Ron opens his eyes blissfully, feeling like nothing could ruin this day. He was more than willing to have Kim join him, until he looked up to her and saw a sight that he had never seen before. Kim stood towering over his shoulder, nothing but her smooth pale skin and fitting maroon bathing suit. Her hair was down like always, but it fell on her beautiful skin in a way that made Ron feel nervous. The full exposure of her legs was back again, as well as her stomach. Which shouldn't really effect Ron all that much since her wardrobe always manages to reveal it in public, but now, it just made him even more nervous. He stammered on his words while Kim watched awkwardly, "Uh... yeah. Sure."
