PARKER HOUSEHOLD

Peter woke up with a start. He had spent most of the night swinging around and stooping things like muggings and car chases. Now he was just struggling to brush his teeth or even put on his clothes straight. He was in a bit of rush, as he knew that everyone was meeting up soon at Coney Island for their beach party, and he didn't want to be late. He raced down the stairs in his grey swim trunks, a white undershirt, and his backpack slung over his shoulder with his costume inside. He came through the kitchen to grab a bottle of water, running past his Aunt May. "Where are you headed in such a hurry, dear?" she asked with interest.

"Everyone from school is meeting at Coney Island for a party on the beach" he explained, grabbing a quick snack from the cupboard. He stashed it into his bag and made his leave toward the back door.

"Okay, have fun!" May said. "Call if you need me."

"Don't worry, I will. Love you!" he called back as he walked out. He searched in all directions as soon as the door was closed, and when he knew the coast was clear, he pulled his costume out.

CONEY ISLAND BEACH

Peter arrived at Coney Island just after 1, which meant most of the class was already there. He changed out of his costume and shoved it back into his bag in secret. Once he looked normal, he ventured out onto the boardwalk, searching for his group of classmates. Soon enough, he found a group of students that all went to his school, telling him that this was where everyone was meeting. There were students everywhere, and as he wandered into the sand to join in, he spotted a few of the usual people he socialized with. Flash and his usual entourage were by the volleyball nets getting their game on. Mary Jane had taken up a spot with Glory by the food stand conversing with other girls from school. However, it seemed like Gwen and Harry were nowhere to be found.

Peter wondered if they had decided not to come for some reason. Which was weird because Harry had been so pumped about having some fun and escaping his grief for a while. But more importantly, he wanted to have a chance to talk with Gwen about things and know where their relationship stood and where it could be going. Anyway, with no Gwen or Harry, and no desire to join Flash with Liz around, Peter thought it would be best to be with Mary Jane. He walked up a few stairs onto the porch where the food stand was and walked toward her.

Now Peter, being the young boy that he was, couldn't help himself from staring at her, as she was in a simple black bikini. Heck, it was just gawking in general to be around all his classmates with most of their skin showing. MJ just seemed to catch his eye more due to her gorgeous looks and her free-spirited attitude. But strangely enough, it wasn't enough to make him fall for her, because he knew that Gwen was all he could think about. Which made him think, "wonder what Gwen would be wearing."

"Hey, Tiger!" she said as she noticed him. "Glad you could make it." Glory and the other girls turned to Peter as MJ greeted him. Some smiled at Peter's arrival, others huffed in disgust or discontentment.

"Me too" Peter replied. "Have you seen Gwen or Harry around?" His question changed her expression to ponder, as she thought back to who she has seen at the party.

"No, I haven't seen them yet, but I'm sure they'll be here soon" she answered. "Come on" she continued, tapping his shoulder and guiding him back onto the sand, "let's play a game of volleyball."

Peter silently agreed to join but was nervous about the endeavor. Liz and her friends were all hanging out by the volleyball nets with Flash. Which meant that some kind of interaction between them was bound to happen, unless she still wanted nothing to do with him and tried to avoid him. It didn't help much when Glory started talking to him either.
