CONEY ISLAND BEACH

The hysteria at the beach had settled down and everyone was starting to relax again. Countless vacationers and frequent visitors were doing what felt right to them. Some called for loved ones on their mobile devices, some just collected all their belongings and went home for the day, and others resumed their recreational activities on the beach; such as building sandcastles, swimming, or playing volleyball. Everyone deals with crazy events in their own way, and it clearly showed in the many ways after the Sandman had terrorized the beach and made it his stomping, or swirling, ground. But thanks to the heroic efforts of Kim Possible and New York's very own Spider-Man, they were able to defeat the monstrous fiend and keep the peace. However, Kim was still not happy with the fact that the web-slinger had not stayed to give a report to the police. Leaving only her and Ron to give the police some details. At this time, they were just wrapping up things with Officer Beckhart, the first policeman to arrive on the scene, who wrote down what they saw into a notepad.

"So, the Sandman just disappeared?" he asked, surprised that something so sudden as disappearing could just happen. He saw from Kim and Ron's expressions that this was no exaggeration. Both of them saw the enormous being terrorizing the beach and everyone on it. They saw it take Roderick Kingsley before they could have a chance to save him. "Like magic!" Ron answered, a slight exaggeration in his voice to sell the point.

"And you, Ms. Possible, have no memory of that moment?" the officer asked Kim.

"I was unconscious" she said. "I couldn't have remembered it if I wanted to. All I remember is waking up and seeing the cloud of sand dust it left behind after it disappeared."

"O-kaaay" Beckhart hummed as he took his notes "and these other two witnesses. What were their names again?"

"Senor Senior Sr. and Senor Senior Jr."

"Riiight... and, just so I got this right, they were meeting with the one who was abducted by Sandman?" Beckhart asked cautiously. He didn't want to miss a detail in his report. Kim found his dedication to the job rather exceptional. She hoped others in the New York Police were as thorough and "on-top-of-it" as he was. "Right! Roderick Kingsley was his name."

"Gotcha"

"You sure take your job seriously, don't ya chief" Ron said comedically. Kim smiled, but hummed disappointedly. "Of course he does, Ron" she scolded him. "He's a police officer. It's his duty to protect the public. No matter what form that takes. Isn't that right, Officer Beckhart?"

Officer Beckhart chuckled, finding some humorous irony in what she had said. "I gotta be honest with ya. It's only my first month on the job and I never thought I'd be tossed into something this crazy so soon. But, I guess that's New York for ya."

"You've only been out of the academy for a month?" Kim asked, much enthusiasm swelling inside her upon hearing this information. "How do you like it?"

"Eh, I'm still getting the hang of a few things, but it's like any other job I've had before; for the most part anyway."

"Oh yeah? How's that?" Ron asked. Beckhart smiled to the pair, and stashed his notepad away, as he no longer needed it for further questioning. "Well, you do your fair share of paper work, you need to work with people that will either like or not like you, and as always, service needs to be at the top of your game. Which is why consistency, I think, is the key to effectively enforce the law."

"That's a nice way of putting it, Office Beckhart" Kim encouraged the new officer. "I hope you find a way of achieving that consistency."

"Thanks!" he said with optimism. "Anyway, back to the point. Based on what you two have told me, we'll have to keeping asking around. Maybe some investigation on the father and son pair you spoke of could add some more light on this. If what you say about their "evil hobbies" are true, they may have setup the whole thing to avoid suspicion." Kim and Ron nodded, as this was a theory that they could get behind.
