SEPTEMBER 27, 1976
AURORA POV
School had resumed. I sat eating lunch with James, Remus, Peter and Sirius, Lily was with the girls studying in the library since it was a Saturday. I'd been listening to James go on about Lily and asking what he was doing wrong, eventually, I couldn't handle it anymore so I blurted out,
"Just stop being a bloody toerag!"
The boys looked at me,
"What?" James asked
"you heard me... what does Lily call you constantly? A toerag, right..." I said leaning in so no one else could hear but us five,
"Look don't tell Lily I told you but shed be a lot more incline to going out with you if you got your act together... study with her, stop getting so many detentions, even bloody head boy next year would really get her eye, so put in the work for it"
James looked at me unsure.
"All I'm saying is that right now she sees you as immature and no matter how many times you ask her out, she still doesn't think you're serious about her... so back off on pestering her to go out with you so much and work on being someone shed actually date, THEN you might actually have a chance"
James was quiet after that, I could tell he was really thinking about what I said, contemplating what he should do. Then he looked back at me and gave me a thankful nod.
Peter laughed, "since when did you become the relationship master"
I looked at Remus feeling a sort of sadness,
"I don't have everything figured out"I mumbled.
"Huh?" Sirius asked.
I broke my eyes contact with Remus and looked away from the boys,
"Uh nothing, nothing, Listen I gotta go, Dumbledore wanted to speak to me before lunch ended"
I got up from the bench grabbing my bag and kissing Sirius on the cheek. From the corner of my eye, I could see Remus eyeing me and Sirius but I chose to ignore it.
"Bye boys" I spoke again to which they returned a goodbye as I walked out of the great hall.
When I reached the gargoyle statue guarding the headmaster's office I gave the password and walked up the stairs, entering his office once again.
