"are you sure you're going to stay here for Christmas," Lily asked with her trunk in hand, ready to leave with Alice.
"Yeah I'm sure, being at Hogwarts is better than being alone at home... besides I have Marlene here to keep me company" Aurora replied nudging Marlene, making her laugh
"well I guess we'll see you two in the new year"
"See you Lils"
With that lily and Alice left to catch the train, before they got too far Aurora called to her best friend "try not to murder James on the train"
Lily smiled at that "can't make any promises"
Marlene and Aurora walked back to the castle, not wanting to be in the cold any longer,
"So Marlene what now?"
"Kitchens?"
"I knew I was friends with you for a reason" Aurora joked
The two girls walked to the kitchens, on the way Aurora learned that she was staying at Hogwarts this year to escape her brothers, they tend to get extra winy during the holidays she said.
When the got to the pear painting Marlene tickled the pear and the painting let them in, they walked into the kitchens, the smell of breakfast that had been made not to long ago, engulfing them in comfort.
They asked the house elves if they could make them some cookies, which they gladly did. Marlene came here a lot so they knew her well but they also really appreciated Aurora's kindness and manners towards them. Auroras mother had always told her to be kind to the house-elves she had at home so she made sure to do the same here.
They thanked the elves and took the cookies they had just backed and given them in a basket.
The girls walked back to Gryffindor tower, when they got to the common room, they waited for a Gryffindor boy to leave then ran up to the girl's dormitories, trying not to get caught,
"I told you that no food rule was bull shit," Marlene said popping herself down on Auroras bed.
Aurora sat down beside her laughing at the memory of her first time meeting Marlene, her first words were 'that's bullshit'.
They ate the cookies while chatting about anything and everything. Marlene really appreciated Aurora and her friendship, so she got really confused when she would think about her feelings.
She looked at Aurora and saw a confident, funny and very beautiful girl who was yes her friend but Marlene couldn't understand why she felt like it wasn't just friendship."Aurora"
"Ya Mar"
"H-how do you think one truly knows if they like boys ?" She asked
Aurora looked at her only kind of knowing what she was getting at,
"I guess you have to kiss one first and it'll just feel right, you'll know then"
Marlene thought about this then asked
"And what do you do if you want to know if you like girls?"
Aurora looked back at her friend again with a smile, "I guess it's the same answer..."
Marlene looked at her feet.
"Mar is there something you need to tell me?" Aurora continued, sitting upright beside Marlene at the end of the bed. Marlen looked at Aurora unable to say a sentence. Aurora chuckled slightly looking from Marlene's eyes to her lips. She leaned in and the two girls shared a kiss. It was short but sweet and passionate. Aurora's plump lips met with Marlene's soft ones, intertwining with each others.
The two broke away and giggling at what just happened. Aurora fell into her back then rolled so she was on her stomach, her arms propping her up and she grabbed another cookie.
"Does that answer your question?" Aurora joked lightly.
Marlene smiled at her friend, she then came to the conclusion it wasn't so much she liked Aurora but girls in general,
"Yes it did, thank you"
"Aha, no problem mar, happy Christmas by the way"
