MAY 13, 1975
Auroras fourth year was coming to an end soon. Lessons with Dumbledore were going way better than Aurora could have ever imagined, she had within a couple of months surpassed the kills of seventh years and she had, mastered every basic charm and spell taught in school by now and she was doing exceptional in self-defence abilities, she was now beating the enchanted dummie every time, she could it to the ground no matter what direction it came from.
She often goes to the room of requirements and box a boxing day when she was upset or angry, she was getting stronger and stronger every week.
And she was top of her class in charms and DADA, given that she knew everything being thought by now.
Aurora and Lily were walking to the great hall for lunch, James, Peter, Remus and Sirius walking behind them, talking and laughing loudly when they suddenly stopped, as did the two girls. they were now watching a group of Slytherin boys in their year push a Huffle puff first year to the ground.
Before James could run up and stop them, Sirius put a hand on James' chest keeping him in place and telling him to look. the four turned their attention to Aurora.
"what the hell do you think you're doing Malfoy" Aurora snarled at Slytherin boy Lucius Malfoy. she had walked up to him and gave him a shove away from the first year.
"Don't touch me you filthy blood traitor" he hissed back making his 'friends behind his laugh. They weren't really his friends, he only hung around them because they were big and stupid and he thought it made him look tough. James and Sirius however didn't find this funny, they knew exactly what it meant to be called a blood traitor, but aurora didn't really seem to mind.
"Watch your mouth Lucius, you don't want to pick a fight with me"
"what you think you scare me Rose, you and your Mudblood frei-" Lucius' sentence was cut short when Aurora swung her fist in anger and locked him in the face making him fall to his knees, holding his jaw. his lip began to bleed and Aurora's whole body filled with fury.
She grabbed Lucius by the collar of his shirt dragging him up slightly off his knees to bring his ugly face close to hers. disgusted and mad beyond belief, not because he called her a blood traitor but because he disrespected her best friend and she wasn't going to let ANYONE hurt Lily or any of her friends for that matter.
"disrespect me or any of my friends again and I swear to Merlin, I will put you in the bloody hospital wing for a month..." she threatened then bent down to speak in his ear, with evil in her voice, she spoke quietly but loud enough for the boys, Lily and the Slytherins to hear,
"We have very different ideas of what is a blood traitor Malfoy... there are two kinds of pureblood families.. ones with morals, who respect ALL wizards no matter their blood status then families like you, weak, pathetic.. ones who have to follow after a dark wizard just to feel a smidge of self-worth because their lives will be worth nothing more than dog shit... you disgust me" Aurora says letting go of Lucious with strength making him fall back down.
She looked at the platinum blonde with anger in her eyes and he was indeed scared of her now so he struggled to get to his feet and ran away, leaving his little click to look at her with equal fear, frozen in place.
"LEAVE.. NOW, before I hurt you too" with that, they ran as fast as they could.
Anger had drained from auroras body and her mind was no longer clouded. she turned aground and kneeled to the first year with a kind smile on her face, giving the little boy their hand. How Aurora was able to go from terrifying to the kindest look human ever, you'll never know. The boy took her hand and she lifted him back to his feet.
"oh dear, are you alright," she asked with a hand on his back, the other grabbing her bag off the floor.
"uh y-yea I g-guess, thank you," he said as Aurora led him to the great hall for lunch, Lily right behind them, impressed and thankful for her friends sticking up for her.
"what the fuck just happened," Remus said shocked unable to divert his thought away from what they had just seen.
"our precious Aurora is a bloody BADASS is what happened" Sirius replied to him.
"is it, is it bad that I'm kind of scared of her now," Peter said with a laugh
this made the other three laugh as well,
"You and I both peter" Sirius joked, when in reality he wasn't scared, he was extremely attracted to her. He had always had a small crush on Aurora but given that he got attention from the majority of the girls at Hogwarts, he never pursued it instead of enjoying his many options. But now, now he was looking at everything all different.
Aurora was different, he knew that before, he knew she had always been beautiful and talented, in everything, school, quidditch, but now he saw she had something he valued more than all that; she had courage, strength, loyalty to the people she cared about and so much more.
'shit am I falling for her' he said to himself before following his friends into the great hall.
