APRIL 27, 1976
It was Saturday and dinner time. Aurora and Lily were heading to the great hall for the feast after studying for OWLs all day. They were about to enter the great hall when Lily stopped in her tracks.
"Lily, what's wrong?"
Lily looked away from her best friend, her eyes beginning to water as she walked over to one of the windows so Aurora couldn't see her tears.
Aurora put her hand on Lily's shoulder and turned her around to face her. Lily sniffled back tears,
"I- I don't want to go in there" she spoke.
"why? what happened?" Aurora asked concerned, her hand still on Lily's shoulder.
Lily looked at her feet, " I um, don't want to see Severus.... he called me a..." she said turning back to face the window,
Aurora stood a step behind her friend anger filling her veins.
"I know I shouldn't be this upset, but I never thought he would say that to me... I thought I was his friend" she spoke sadly
"Lily what did he call you," Aurora said sternly, she knew what Lily was going to say but needed to be sure"
" a m-mudblood" Lily replied in a quiet voice.
Aurora straightened her black, her fists clenched. Her body was hot with anger and she knew she wouldn't let him get away with this so she began to walk fast to the hall, with purpose.
She flung the huge doors open, everyone had already begun to eat and looked at Aurora confused as to why she was making a huge scene.
" Where Is He!",
She walked furiously to the Slytherin table, right up to Severus and pulled him up from his seat by the collar of his shirt. He stumbled and tried to break away but couldn't until Aurora had dragged him from the table to the middle of the hall.
"WHAT THE HELL" he scoffed.
"You... Dirty, bloody, git" she reamed hitting his chest with her fingers with each word,
"who do you think you are" she snarled, "you think you can go around calling Lily a bloody mudblood!" her voice was getting louder with each sentence. Snape stood there embarrassed as everyone including the teachers sat in the seats, in shock.
behind them, from the Gryffindor table, Aurora heard James go "OH shit!"
She looked at the greasy-haired boy with a mix of anger and disappointment,
"Is that who you treat the only real friend you've ever had!... you go around with your little death eater friends and try to act tough but I know what you really are... I've been nice to you and been respectful for Lily's sake but no more"
Severus tried to speak but Aurora continued before he could. She pressed her pointer finger into his chest, shaking her head in disgust,
"You'll never be anything more than pathetic and a coward!" she snarled, turning around to walk away.
The students and professors around them still staring in awe at what just happened. Severus began to feel extremely embarrassed making him angry now too.
Before Aurora could even take a step away, snape withdrew his wand and pointed it at Aurora, her back facing him.
Dumbledore stood up from his chair to stop the Slytherin but there was no need. One of the most important reasons for learning physical self-defence with the headmaster was being able to sense when your about to be attacked or hit.
At that moment Aurora turned around and grabbed Snape's wrist that was held out from his body.
It all happened so quick, within one second really, she had twisted his arm behind his body causing him pain, she put pressure on his arm she had pinned to his back, flipping his body over making him land on his knees.
She pushed him harder, pinning his body flat against the floor of the great hall.
She took his other arm twisting it behind his back like his other arm. Her knee sat against his back as she held his hands in place with only one of hers.
The whole great hall had gone silent, the smiles on people's faces had changed to dropped jaws. Lily stood still at the doors not knowing what to do.
Aurora knelt down farther to put her face closer to Snape's ear so that only he could hear her,
"Stay away from me and my friends or I will fucking kill for you" she spoke letting go of him and stepping over his body. She rolled her eyes and how weak he was and walked to Lily.
Snape began to get up slowly in defeat, Aurora grabbing the redhead's hand and pulling her out of the hall so she could comfort her properly now that Severus had been taken care of.
They left out of site and every left stared at snape, sniggering and gossiping amongst themselves.
Snape walked back to the Slytherin table and was immediately mocked by the other students in his house, making fun of him for getting his ass kicked by a girl so easily.
At the Gryffindor table, everyone was in fits of laughter. the marauders along with Marlene and Alice were crying with laughter at what their best friend had to do to the boy's sworn enemy. Sirius wiped his eyes and said proud as ever,
"my girlfriends a badass"
Remus turned his head at Sirius' voice. the sunken feeling of being reminded that his crush was freshly dating his best friend. a deep feeling of jealousy filled his chest. but there was still a lingering feeling of confusion. Remus and Aurora were just friends, they've been best friends since she comforted him all those years ago; when she told him that he was more than his demons. maybe that why he's always liked her. not her beauty or sense of humour but the fact that she always got him, understood him in ways others couldn't, accepted him in ways he couldn't fathom.
but he pushed his feelings, if there was anything he wanted more than to be a normal kid who didn't have to fear the moon, was for his friends- his family, to be happy.

For people confused as to why Sirius said that aurora is his girlfriend. aurora and Sirius made a deal a couple of chapters ago that if he makes it to whatever date without flirting or hooking up with any other girls shell agree to be with him. Sirius fulfilled his part soooooooo.
dw this is still a Remus fic I just wanted time for Remus to understand his feelings before Aurora does.
