Chapter 12: Monaco

I whirled around to my parents.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"Well, the more, the merrier!"
Smiled Mother, "I know that this is unexpected, dear."

"It is," I said through clenched teeth, "How come nobody told me?"

"If it makes you feel any better, Cass and I didn't know either," said Jade, who also seemed quite bitter about the whole situation. I looked expectantly at Daphne.

"I only invited Theo!" She protested, "He asked me what I was doing for Christmas, and wondered if he could come. Your parents agreed, and they let him bring a few friends too, since he would otherwise be the only boy!"

"We didn't tell you, Roxy, because we wanted it to be a surprise," said Father. I narrowed my eyes.

"Some kind of surprise. What is he doing here?"

"Theo invited me," said Malfoy innocently. I glared daggers at him.

"He's going to ruin the whole holiday! There's no way I'm spending it with him!" I was almost hysterical.

"Shh, calm down, Roxy," soothed Mother, "Draco won't be an issue. We'll all have a lovely time and besides, we're here to keep an eye on you all."

"Yes, and the airline tickets are already booked," added Father.

"Airline tickets?" I was perplexed.

"We're travelling by plane," he explained. Blaise, Malfoy and Jade looked confused. Daphne, Theo, Cass and I smiled.

"A plane is a form of Muggle air transport," explained Theo.

"Muggle?" Shot back Malfoy.

"Ah, well we can't Floo to Monaco, and it's too far for brooms. We can't apparate there either. The Monacan authorities are quite strict," said Father, "Now, we must get going or we'll be late for our flight."

"Can't wait to see their expressions," I smirked to Cass, who giggled.

"Don't worry," reassured Mother, seeing the other three's alarmed looks, "It's perfectly safe, and we've booked first class."

We Flooed to Heathrow Airport with our luggage, which we dropped off. Then Father got the tickets. Our flight came at 11.00 am. I hitched my bag onto my shoulder as our flight was called.

"The Muggles are staring," murmured Blaise. I chuckled.

"We're just a large group. A rich, upperclass, large group." Since we were first class, we were called on first. As we boarded the plane, Father found our seats.

"Here we are. Jade, Cassidy and Elaine at the front, then Blaise, Theodore and me in the second row, with Draco, Roxy and Daphne behind," read out Father. The first-class seats were quite luxurious, with a long, plush leather chair and a large table.

And the table could fold back so that you could extend the chair into a bed. First-class even had their own bathrooms.

"I must say, this is pretty impressive, fitting such luxury into such a small space as a plane," said Jade, impressed. I sighed and sank down.

"It's just a shame we're only going to be on here for 2 hours, but we always have the return flight," I said.

"So what exactly happens again?" Asked Malfoy. I laughed.

"Relax, and enjoy. You're so tense. Look at these airborne luxuries!" I switched on the TV with my remote.

"Um, what is that?" Blaise asked.
