Chapter 15: Slytherin United

*Roxy's POV*

The next few weeks were a serious struggle, and one of the worst for Slytherin House. We were ambushed at every opportunity. The teachers tried -and failed- to regain control. It was evident that, secretly, they were siding with Potter and his nasty gang.

Umbridge, however, put up more and more decrees in an attempt to put the students under control, and doled out detentions more and more frequently. She gave detentions to everyone but the Slytherins, and even favoured them. Snape was furious, and would continue to take away house points from the other houses for things like talking loudly in the corridors and dishing out detentions. In Potions classes, he would use even harsher words against the other houses, and give out house points to the Slytherins.

So I suppose they deserved credit. It was useless to appeal to Dumbledore; everyone knew he favoured Gryffindor. Personally, I was mad at the Golden Trio for starting all of this. Slytherins would end up in the hospital wing every single day, and even more ridiculous lies and rumours about us were created. But, true to their word, Slytherins stuck by each other and looked out for one another. They call us evil and twisted. We are loyal, ambitious, cunning and far stronger than them.

"We were just in the library," Draco snarled to us, "and Potter and his Mudblood friend were smirking at us like they were gods or something. Pieces of filth." Vincent growled and Gregory cracked his knuckles threateningly. We had formed a sort of gang ourselves: me, Daphne, Jade, Cassidy, Theo, Blaise, Draco, Vincent and Gregory.

That night in our dorm, the girls and I were talking.

"Your plan for reign is falling apart at the seams, Roxy," Daphne said, "The other houses hate us."

"I know, but that's not really the issue right now. I've given up on the idea. It seems rather childish to me now. What we need to focus on is a way to stop all of this ridiculous hate. Slytherin is a proud house. They're crumbling easily under this hate."

"I just don't understand why Potter has to pin the blame on the Slytherins and include names that aren't Death Eaters," sighed Cassidy.

"That's because he's an attention seeker. I'm so sick of this. The only good thing that's happened so far is that Parkinson was hit by a hex. Got sent to the hospital wing," smirked Jade. We all laughed.

Then Trelawney was sacked and our Divination teacher replaced by Firenze, the centaur.

"You have to admit, he has good looks," commented Cassidy.

"He's a half-breed, just like that Hagrid," Blaise scoffed.

"If you ask me I reckon that oaf is going to get the sack next," smirked Draco.

"I never was one for Divination. Always thought it was a waste of time. But Firenze teaches it like no other. Rather enjoyable," Jade smiled.

"Yeah, and none of that nonsense Trelawney drones on about," laughed Theo.

A few days later, something truly exciting happened that changed the course for Slytherin for the better. The Inquisitorial Squad had all been summoned to Umbridge's office. The toad was looking far too gleeful.

"I've just received news that Potter and his group have indeed been hosting meetings in the Room of Requirement. Right now! We shall catch them red-handed." This was it. Our chance at putting Slytherin back in top place. So we followed her to the seventh floor.

"We've got them now," smirked Draco gloatingly.

"May I do the honours, Professor?" I asked sweetly.
