As soon as you get back to your hotel room you call Cecilia. It's 12:00 so you should be leaving, but you can't wait until you get home to call her. She answers the phone screaming.
"OH MY FUCKING GOD Y/N, I'VE BEEN WAITING FOREVER FOR YOU TO CALL ME!"
You laugh.
"I'm sorry! I just got home from my coffee date with Spencer."
"How did it go? Was it everything you hoped for?" She sounds genuinely intrigued, and it makes you even more excited than you were before.
"Yes. It was perfect."
You two stay quiet for a few seconds until Cecilia breaks the silence.
"Well? Are you gonna tell me what happened?" She says.
"Oh right, sorry." You say.
You put yourself in a more comfortable position and tell her everything- The way he smiled, the nice gestures, how he payed for your coffee. She squealed when you tell her about his invitation to go to the bookstore. You tell her that he bought the book for you, and about the nice conversations and debates you had on your walk to and from the bookstore. You can't wait to tell her about your moment at your car.
"The best part of the date was when we got to my car." You say. You've had a huge cheesy grin on your face the entire call.
"You're saying the moment before you had to leave was the best part?"
"Just listen, you're so impatient." You chuckle. "I said thank you and we said goodbye to each other, and then I gave him a hug."
"Isn't he like a germaphobe or something though?"
You sigh into the phone.
"Ok sorry, I'll be patient." Says Cecilia.
"It's okay, because that's what I thought to. But when I hugged him, he hugged me back. The way he wrapped his arms on me just felt....right. And he laid his head on the crook of my neck. It was like he didn't want to let go. It was really sweet." You reminisce on the way his hands felt on your waist and his hot breath. You miss that.
"That's the cutest thing I've ever heard. He seems like quite the catch, I can't wait to meet him."
"And when do plan on doing that?" You ask.
Cecilia is silent for a second."After your next date?" She says hopefully. You laugh.
"I don't know about that. But maybe soon. I don't want things to move too fast."
"Really? It already seems like you're head over heels for him."
You stay silent. It's not like you're in love, but you do like him a lot.
"Maybe, but I've never been in a serious relationship before. If we're gonna have something like that I want to savor it."
"I totally get it. I want to hear more, but I gotta go. I have to do some work before my date with Tristan tonight." She sounds excited, and you're excited for her. A little scared, but mostly excited.
"Ok, have fun and call me when you can. Love you."
"Love you too."
You hang up and start to pack for your road trip back. You double check your hotel room, making sure to not leave anything behind.
That's when you realize you still have Spencer's jacket. The smell of coffee and old books isn't as strong, but it lingers.
Your phone dings, and there's a message from someone on your lock screen.
12:50
I hope you're keeping my jacket safeYou smile at Spencers name on your screen.
12:51
Of course doctor, I wouldn't dream of letting any harm come to it12:51
I hope it smells like you when I get it back.As weird as that text may have been, it still made you grin.
12:51
Oh yeah? And when will that be?You wait excitedly for his response, practically falling off of the bed as you stare at your phone. Then he responds.
12:52
Next Wednesday, meet me at Nippori at 1:0012:52
See you then ;)You can't believe it. Next week you're getting Japanese food with one of the smartest, dorkiest, and most handsome guys you've ever met. You can't wait.
You slip on his jacket and leave the hotel, not able to contain your excitement as you jump in your car and blast "It Was A Good Day" by Ice Cube, screaming the lyrics.
