Cecilia is leaning towards you, her mouth hanging open. She's not even blinking. The bowl of ice cream and spoon in her hand is slowly falling, and she looks speechless. You just finished telling her about the date.

"Y/n..." Is all that comes out of her mouth. Why is she being so weird?

"Cecilia are you ok?" You ask.

She shakes her head like she has just come back to reality.

"Yeah, sorry. It's just...I've never heard of a second date that romantic and sweet." She says, giggling. "It sounded absolutely perfect, I'm so happy for you."

You don't know what came over you, but you felt your eyes start to burn. Your lip trembles and you look down, noticing a small wet spot spread on your comforter.

"Damn it y/n, stop it." You look up and notice her eyes tearing up too. "You know if you cry, I cry."

You can't help it- You are so lucky to have a friend like her. It may be cheesy but you have no idea how you would survive without her. She's been with you through the highs and lows, through thick and thin. You're both sitting on your bed crying and hugging each other tightly.

"Thank you for being here for me." You say quietly.

"Of course. I love you, and you deserve someone like Spencer." She says.

You hug for a minute longer and then pull away. You wipe your eyes and look at each other and laugh. Cecilia grabs both of your ice cream bowls and sets them in your nightstand.

"Do you wanna go watch some New Girl?" She asks.

"Yeah, I'll order us some food." You say. "But we are not watching an episode with Ryan in it."

You both laugh again and you stand up off of your bed. You reach your hand out to Cecilia and she grabs it. You two head into the living room and sit on the couch, turning on the tv. You take out your phone and call the pizza place around the corner.

You watch a few episodes of New Girl and eat some pepperoni pizza. You and Cecilia laugh at the funny things Schmidt and Nick say, and Cecilia basically forces you to turn on a Ryan episode. She really likes his accent. After that you guys watch "My Best Friends Wedding" and then go into your room. You talk for a little while eating ice cream, and Cecilia asks about your date with Spencer on Saturday.

"So where are you guys going?"

You realize you and him never talked about a location.

"I actually don't know. I was thinking we would get dinner or something."

Cecilia looks up from her bowl and raises her eyebrows.

"Oh my god you should totally text him!" She says. You look down and grin at your bowl of ice cream as you drag your spoon around the top of the scoop.

"I don't know, he's on a case right now. I don't want to bother him."

"It's not like you're calling him." She says. "If he really is busy he just won't respond right away. But he seems to really like you, so he'll definitely respond at some point."

You think for a second and then grab your phone. You go to the messages app and tap on Spencer's name.

Where are you planning to take me this weekend Doctor?

You hit send and give the phone to Cecilia so she can see the message. She smirks and hands it back to you.

"That's good. And now, we wait."

You two talk about Cecilia and Tristans date this weekend. They're going to the Golden Gate again to do some dancing. She tells you she's planning on wearing her favorite satin maroon dress. You know which one she's talking about, and she does look really hot in it. She talks about how much she likes Tristan again, and you're happy for her. You want to tell her but you don't want to start crying again. Besides, she already knows.

You're conversation is interrupted by a ding from your phone. You read a message from Spencer.

I thought you were the one who insisted on buying me something

"He wants me to choose where we go." You tell Cecilia. She furrows her eyebrows...neither of you expected this. Suddenly her face lights up with an idea.

"You guys should come to the club with me and Tristan!" She says.

"No offense, but I don't think clubbing with my best friend is really Spencer's idea of fun." You say. "Besides, I told you I want to take things slow. I don't think I want him meeting my best friend just yet."

Cecilia nods her head in agreement.

"Yeah that's a good point. And you need to choose something to top that last date, he went all out for that one."

You smile. He really did put a lot of work into it.

"What if I take him to the art museum?" You ask. It's a good plan since Cecilia won't be there, and you can get hooked up with some tickets to a special exhibit.

"That's a great idea!" Says Cecilia. "I can give you guys tickets to the Picasso exhibit we're showing this weekend."

You smile at her. "Thank you Cecilia, I owe you one."

"Of course. I would wrestle a bear if It meant that you finally get a boyfriend."

You laugh at her joke and turn on your phone again.

My best friend is a curator at the National Gallery of Art. She can get us tickets to the Picasso exhibit they're showing, is that something you'd be interested in?

You giggle, knowing that he's probably serious. You set your phone down and sigh.

It has been a really good day.
