The Team

Spencer's POV

Spencer walks into the doors of the BAU in a very good mood. His night with y/n was absolutely perfect, and he hasn't felt this way about anyone since Maeve. The team notices his good mood and Morgan is the first to address it.

"Hey pretty boy, what's got you smiling?" He asks. He hands Spencer a coffee.

"I just had a good night." He says.

"Oh, what kind of night?" He says smiling. "The kind with a beautiful woman?"

Spencer tries his best to hide micro expressions but ultimately fails.

"Oooh whats her name?" Asks Emily.

"How many dates?" Chimes in JJ.

Spencer opens his mouth to talk, but stops when Hotch walks out of his office with a manila folder.

"We have a case." He says.

The team walks into the bullpen and sits down. Everyone is still looking at Spencer. Garcia walks in with remote in hand to get ready to present the case.

"Hey Garcia, word on the street is that Reid has a girlfriend." Says JJ.

Garcia gasps and looks at Spencer.

"Why wasn't I told about this sooner? What's her name? I need to do a mandatory background check
to make sure she's not creepy and weird."

Spencer tries to talk but he's interrupted by Hotch walking in the room with Rossi.

"Sorry to interrupt, but can you present the case Garcia?" He asks. She nods and turns towards the screen.

"There have been a series of murders going up the east coast. Women ranging from their 40's to 50's have been raped and stabbed, their bodies dumped in alleyways."

"How do we know the murders are connected?" Asks Derek.

"Because every body has the word "Baby" carved into their forehead." She shows a picture of a woman with blonde straight hair and the word baby on her forehead.

"Autopsy says it was done post mortem." Says Rossi. "What does baby mean to the unsub?"

"Human brains are pre developed at the baby stage, that's why babies can't um... you know, talk or walk." Says Spencer. He tries to think of a better baby fact but he's a little distracted at the moment. The rest of the team just chooses to ignore it.

"Yes but what do they have in connection to the victims? Or is the unsub just degrading them or taunting us?" Says JJ.

"I don't know, but South Carolina PD has requested our assistance. Wheels up in 30." Says Hotch. The team files out of the bullpen and Spencer goes last. He's pulled aside by JJ who has a worried look on her face.

"Hey Spence, I know you probably don't want to tell the whole team but is it true you're seeing someone?" She asks.

"I have been talking to someone, but why is everyone so worried about it?" He asks.

"We just want to make sure you're happy. After Maeve and Cat it's hard not to worry when a woman comes into your life."

"Ok, I understand. Thanks for looking out for me." He turns away.

"Wait, Spence." Says JJ. He looks back and she gives a smirk.

"What's she like?"

Spencer smiles. He doesn't want to go into details yet.

"She's unlike any girl I've met." He smiles and turns away.

"Garcia, do these women have anything in common besides looks?" Asks Prentiss. The team is on the jet and Spencer is on his phone.
