Good Days

You wake up alone on Wednesday in a good mood. Spencer did have a case that Sunday, but he should be back today. That means the dinner at David's house tonight is a go.

You walk into the kitchen and make a cup of coffee. You want to relax and do some self care before dinner tonight, so you decide to take a bath. You walk into your bathroom and turn on the faucet, letting your hand sit in the water to make sure it's warm. When it's at your desired temperature you stand up and get your lavender epsom salt, bubble bath soap, and candles. You grab a towel and take your clothes off. Once the water fills the bathtub enough, you light your candles and let the sweet smell fill the room. Right before you step into the bath you hear your phone vibrate.

I heard this song on the radio and it reminded me of you. I miss you, I can't wait to see you tonight

You smile at Spencer's text and look at the link he sent you. It's a song called "Good Days" by SZA. You grab your earbuds and connect them to your phone. You sit in your bath and exhale at the feeling of the warm water on your skin. Once you're comfortable you press play on your phone. You listen to the opening music and close your eyes. It's beautiful. You start smiling when you hear SZA's voice.

You start to breathe slowly as you focus on her words. The music, her voice, and the lyrics are a perfect mix. You can feel every bone in your body relaxing. The smell of the candles and the bath salts and soap add a homey feeling as well.

All the while, I'll await my armored fate with a smile

You sway a little bit at the words.

You think about how Spencer sent you this song. Did it really remind him of you? You love that it did. You definitely love the song. You take a mental note to add it to your playlist once you get out of the bath. You listen to the sounds of animals and nature that play until SZA starts to sing again. You feel absolutely perfect right now.

You sit in the bathtub and rest your head with your eyes closed for the rest of the song. Once it's over, you replay it. You decide once it ends you'll get out. You don't want your fingers and toes to be super pruny and you definitely feel relaxed. Once it's over the second time you drain the tub and rinse off with shower water. You grab your towel and dry yourself off.

Instead of putting clothes on, you put on your green robe. After admiring the soft texture of the cloth you reach into your bathroom cabinet and grab your clay face mask. You push your hair back and apply it to your face. You set a timer on your phone for 15 minutes and walk into your bedroom. You go to your closet and grab your nail polish and then head into your living room. Once you're sitting down on the couch, you turn on the tv and watch Fresh Prince while you paint your toenails. You decide on a very dark blue to match the dress you're wearing to the dinner tonight.

In the middle of painting your nails, you get another text from Spencer.

You press send and go back to you nails. You just finished your second coat, now you're moving on to the top. You start on your first foot and then you get another message from Spencer.

You smile and turn back to painting your toenails. As soon as you finish, your timer goes off. You walk into your bathroom and wash your face. Once you get all of the face mask off you let your hair fall down in your face again. You then walk on your heels back into the kitchen and grab an apple. You take a bite and turn off the tv. You then pick up your phone to call Spencer. You want to hear his voice. It rings a few times, and he eventually answers.

"Hey gorgeous." He says. It makes you smile.

"Hey lover boy. You busy?" You say as you bite your apple.

"Not really, I'm at the police station working on the case right now. What are you doing?"

"I'm eating an apple. With my green robe on." You say. You know he loves when you wear the green robe.

"Can I see?" He asks quietly. It makes you giggle.

"Aren't you at work?" You ask.

"I don't have to be. It's very easy to fake being sick." He says.

"No, don't do that. I'll send you some pictures later."

"Later isn't soon enough." He says. It makes you laugh again.

"I just wanted to hear your voice, I didn't call to tease you." You say.

"Well mission definitely not accomplished. All I can think about is you in that green robe now."

You smile down at your apple. You realize you really need to paint your nails.

"Well have fun with that. I have to go, there's some things I need to do before tonight." You say. He lets out a little sigh.

"Ok. You better send me those pictures later. I love you."

You smile. "I will. Love you too."

You hang up and sit back in the couch. You turn the tv on again and play Fresh Prince. You paint your nails to match your toes, but for some reason all of Will's jokes are funnier. You feel happy and energetic, and you can't wait until you get to see your boyfriend again.
