ASTRA PULLED HER HAIR INTO A TIGHT PONYTAIL AND THEN GRABBED A GUN FROM HER BROTHER'S HAND. He shot her an annoyed look but didn't comment on her actions. Scarlett was standing by playing with her knives, as she always did when they got ready for a fight. It had been so long since Astra had done anything with the mafia that she had nearly forgotten how it felt. The thrill that she got from simply holding her gun was nothing compared to actually being in the battle.
"I should be worried by the amount of happiness that's on your face right now." said Marcus as he studied the girl. "I don't think that it is normal for someone to feel such an emotion when holding a deadly device."
Hector snorted, "You should see her when she's trying to disarm a fake bomb."
"It was one time!" exclaimed Astra.
"Your mother and father both thought you were a little too happy when they told you that you'd cut the wrong cords." Scarlett said as she flipped her knife, "That's when they decided you weren't going to be allowed near anything life-threatening."
Astra gave Hector a scathing glare, "You told me it was because they loved me!"
"Can't believe you actually believed that."
Caius sent Aro an exasperated look as the two siblings in front of them continued to argue. "Our soulmate is a child."
"Before sunrise, she's your soulmate." the black haired vampire king replied.
"-of course you would think you were the favorite. You have an abnormally large head!" Astra retorted with her arms crossed, her hand was still wrapped around the gun.
"Guys!" Scarlett exclaimed as she stabbed the table with her knife.
Aro closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose, "That was an antique."
"Did you guys forget that we're supposed to be meeting with the leader of the Romano family soon?" The red haired girl asked.
"Oh, right." The two siblings said in unison. They gave each other one more glare before getting back to picking their weapons. Around them stood about thirty people, all of them blatantly ignoring everyone else. Each one of them had been handpicked and trained by Astra and Hector's parents, and each one had a special skill set. Some of them were good at torturing, others fighting, and some were good with their words.
"Is everyone ready?" Hector asked as he moved to stand where he could see everyone. A few people nodded, and one person yelled out, "Hell yeah!"
"We really shouldn't be letting her go with them." Caius whispered to Marcus.
"She'll be okay. We'll be there to protect her." Marcus replied.
"I know. I just think that she's going to run straight towards danger without thinking." said Caius as he pointed to his soulmate who was looking at her brother with a bright smile as she anxiously moved in her spot.
Marcus looked at her, a grave expression on his face as he sighed wearily, "We'll just go after her when she does." He then turned back to Hector, who was explaining the plan to everyone.
