"SHOULD WE WAKE THEM?" Conner quietly whispered to Hector. The luxurious jet had landed about half an hour ago, and the dark haired male was dying to get off and explore. They were currently gazing into the room that held the two girls, who were soundly sleeping. They hadn't woken up once the whole trip, and the two boys had actually thought they might've been dead a couple of times.

"Probably." Hector shrugged, "I'm not exactly eager to go searching for a place to live right now."

"You mean you haven't bought a house or anything yet?!" Conner quietly exclaimed, trying not to wake the two sleeping beauties.

"I figured we could all pick something out that we all like." Hector said with a sigh, "But honestly, we probably just need to stay in a hotel for a while and then move to a different town."

"Why are we in Volterra anyways?" Conner inquired.

"I don't know," Hector said slowly, "I just felt something calling me to this place. It's crazy, but, I feel like we're meant to be here for the time being."

Conner was quiet for a moment as he thought over his bosses words. "Yep." he finally said, "You're definitely crazy."

Hector shot him a heatless glare and a ghost of a smile crossed his face. "Instead of waking them, which one do you want to carry?" he asked.

"Astra." Conner replied without hesitation.

Hector snickered and smirked, "Okay. Go get her, tiger."

Conner gave his boss a look that clearly said, 'Watch this.' as he walked over to where Astra was laying on the bed. Her breaths were coming out steady, and her chest was slowly rising and falling, a clear sign that she was still asleep. He put one arm under her neck, and his other arm under her knees as he prepared to pick her up. Before he could even lift her off the bed, her eyes flew open in shock.

"Dude. What are you doing!?" she exclaimed, her voice hoarse from sleeping.

Conner thought about putting her back down, but instead opted to lift her from the bed and carry her. "I'm taking you to the car, duh." he replied.

Astra wrapped her arms around Conner's neck to keep from falling as her skin started to head from embarrassment. She would never admit it, but she liked the way it felt to be in his arms. She instantly scolded herself for her thoughts. "I can walk." she protested.

"Be quiet." Scarlett groaned as she buried deeper into the covers. She sighed deeply as everyone got quiet, but her peace didn't last long as she felt a heavy body jump on top of her.

"You've got to get up too, Scar." Hector said, right after he jumped on her.

Astra and Conner erupted into laughter as they watched the scene in front of them. Scarlett groaned in pain, but that just caused them to laugh harder.

"Okay, my King," Astra began dramatically in a fake British accent as she gazed up at conner, "Take me to our carriage."

"As you wish, my Queen." Conner said in the same way as he began walking off the jet. Astra couldn't help but feel her heart skip a beat as he carried her— she hated that stupid crush she had on him. She would never be able to be with him as it would ruin her friendship, and she was apparently the soulmate to three vampire kings. She absolutely hated it.

"What are you thinking about?" Conner asked as he walked to the taxi.

"You." she responded with a smile. If she was going to be forced to be with three people for all eternity, she would at least have one epic love before they found her. Besides, she was going to fight fate as hard as she could. She wanted to choose her destiny.

Conner felt his lips twitch into a smile, "What about me?" he asked.

Astra kept her eyes locked on his, she wanted to say it so badly but she couldn't find the courage to do it. Instead, she reached up and kissed him on the cheek. Her cheeks burned in embarrassment, but she refused to let it show, instead, she gave him a small, sincere smile.

Conner couldn't help but grin like a goofy school boy who had just been kissed by his first girlfriend. "I think you missed." he teased as he puckered his lips.

Astra let out a small giggle as she leaned up and kissed his lips. She expected to feel fireworks, an instant connection, even sparks, but she felt nothing. Despite her disappointment, she shyly smiled at him as she broke the kiss.

"Finally!" Scarlett exclaimed from behind them, causing Astra to hide her head in Conner's chest. "I've been waiting for you guys to kiss for years now!"

Conner turned them around so that they were facing Hector and Scarlett, and he raised an eyebrow, "I should say the same about you too." he said as he took in their stance. Hector had his arm slung over Scarlett's shoulder and she was comfortably leaning into him. They fit together like two puzzle pieces.

"We decided to admit some things." Hector shrugged.

"Put me down." Astra mumbled as she tapped Conner's chest. She couldn't believe her brother had seen her kissing someone, and he actually hadn't tried to kill him.

Conner reluctantly put her down and gave her an awkward smile. Astra looked over to Scarlett, who winked at the blonde girl, "You ready to go, babe?"

"As soon as you get over here and hug me, Lettie." Astra replied as she pursed her lips into a pout.

"How come you never kiss me like that?" Scarlett asked in a teasing tone as she walked over to the girl and wrapped her arm around her shoulder.

"Do you want me to kiss you like that?" Astra questioned with a giggle.

"Of course, babe, how 'bout tonight? You and me? Just like old times?" Scarlett said in a joking tone.

Conner glanced over to Hector with a hand on his chest and a fake shocked look on his face. "Are we being cheated on?!"

The girls erupted into laughter at his words and Scarlett threw him a wink. "Don't worry," she said, "I don't mind to share."

authors note : hi, so this is mostly a filler chapter . . . things start to get super interesting in the next chapter
