John's POV Night-Time
The pro hero backdraft walked up to me "For someone who claims to have never used a water quirk you used one quite easily you're a quick learner"
I responded "My ability requires me to adapt to new skills on the fly so at this point it's just a habit. I just needed a bit of watching to see how it worked"
this is how I always operated however quirks take a bit more effort to imitate than abilities
In all honesty, their abilities weren't too complex compared to other mutant based quirks
However there is one exception I noticed back in the USJ incident when the guy with a teleportation ablity was separating us from eachother I tried sampling his ablity to attempt to copy it only for it to feel so distorted that in simple terms makes it impossible to copy.
that was weird since I have copied abilities that involved teleportation before although to a much weaker extent.
USJ aside as of yet out of everyone I've seen yaoyorozu's quirk seems to be the most complex
I kind of deviatied from the norm shooting black tinted water with a light orange outline
Still, it's weird in the few days where I was allowed to use my ability for exercise purposes.
I've been told
this agency focuses on natural disasters or dealing with the damage caused by villains, when they aren't fighting disasters they go on patrol, file cases, and tag along with emergencies just in case along with recording incidents that were resolved which is how they get paid according to one of the sidekicks
Backdraft also added to that conversation by saying that agencies are a lot more complex than at first glance haveing to manage a workforce with additional expenses such as the tools they use, off time, seeing what insurance is necessary for their line of work and payment of sidekicks or heros
In his own words he said "it's like running a business"
But he didn't end there he also told me "most of that won't affect you unless you plan on running your own agency but you should atleast know the basics so you don't get charged for Less than your worth"
I remember in my world if you're a low teir than you're seen as worthless so I would imagine that a lot of injustice happens in the workplace I remember that time I went to an ablity gauge and the customer got her way just for being powerful despite being in the wrong however that rat shit basterd might have been responsible for what happened to seraphina so maybe I should of have let him get beat up.
Back on topic
physical exercises are commonplace so while watching I was asked to demonstrate my ability I already showed it so for today I was just doing some basic weight lifting nothing to extreme.
After pulling some weights I went to the bench away from everyone
the more I use my ability the more I start to think something is different about my ability it doesn't feel the same I still haven't told anyone about my old world and I doubt anyone would be crazy enough to actually believe me
it's almost as if my body changed along with my ability.
I looked at the high ceiling than
I looked at the pro who was useing an emiter strength ablity itenly from afar, I am 100% certain quirks don't function off of aura so in hindsight, it doesn't make sense that I can copy their "quirks" not to mention it isn't as simple as channeling aura to a part of your body like with aura
But my variant of the copied quirk still releases aura and uses it as an energy source another thing is using my ability at times is more tiring but that isn't much of a downside besides damping the ability does lower the aura I use.
