1: A Different superpowered world

John's POV

I stood up I felt weird my broken hand was as good as new for some reason

I pretty much had nowhere to go so I just walked further into the alleyway a random group of thugs stood in my way the one to the left shouted at me saying

"Hey kid we'll make this easy for you just give us all your money and get Los-" an over entitled asshole I thought

"you're garbage" I simply said cutting him off

"What did you say I'll fucking kill you if you don't watch your mouth!"

I'm more surprised that they were stupid enough to try mugging kids without a mask

what if you were to be sick.

"Hold on haven't you seen this kid has never had to endure pain so let's teach him a few life lessons" I was getting ready to pummel them into the cement

I'm tired of the get beat up mentally I DONT CARE ANYMORE but I know for a fact they don't deserve my sympathy or my mercy

my ability was actually active this whole time that's why it was weird I first used it at the bridge to copy Arlo's ability, fell off with it active, and made it all the way here with it on however the strange part was me not being able to use his barrier the way my ability works is when I copy a power I have it for good until I deactivate my ability, say I copy four abilities and I see a better version of one I have I can't simply trade it out for the better ability if I want to have it I have to depower and copy the new ability leaving behind the previous four. That's strange because I can't use Arlo's barrier at all, however, I do feel more sturdy than I normally do.

The left guy went in for close combat his ability seemed to let him turn parts of his skin into a layer of obsidian I did a parry with my left hand then proceeded to punch him in the face he transformed his left face area as a defense I just grabbed his head and slammed it down to my knee which was also transformed

grabbing his hair I lifted him up and with all my current strength I slammed him to the ground.

The other guy shoots a wave of pressure pushing me to the gourd I stood up pointed my hand at him shoot an amplified version of his airwave while having my hand reinforced with obsidian to deal with the recoil he ended up getting slammed into a nearby wall.

I then shoot another wave at the person in the middle I aimed it at his ankles causing him to trip and land face first

before he had the opportunity to look up or stand I stomped my foot on his head causing him to instantly lose consciousness I hate it when people do that so I kicked him in the face for good measure.

in my signature joker style left the bloodied body behind I kept walking till I exited the alleyway there seemed to be more people around I looked to my right I saw a tall person that was approaching me he simply looked at me

"you know it's illegal to use quirks in public without a license right, also, what you did back there isn't ok." scolding me I clenched my fist I was gonna attack him.

"They had it coming besides it was self-defense"

"point is you broke a law so you're coming with me to the station"

At first, I was tempted into just fighting him so I thought it'd probably be better to cooperate with him to get more information about my current situation so I replied with a basic.

"ok fine"

he led me to what seemed like a station

"death arms do you need anything?" He mumbled something to the guy behind the counter I didn't get a chance to hear it
