John's pov

I got rid of my transformed state and kept on walking redy to eliminate them.

They had run out of options

The ability I coppied was from that shiketsu girl the one that had the ability to transform.

(Flashback)

I had been briefly called by Aizawa to stay for a moment after classes.

"So about this request to spar with ojjiro I approve but you did something similar back in the camp when facing tiger"

He didn't seem To like that I was repeating what I did in the camp.

After a short pause between the two of us he continued.
"I understand that you probably won't be able to come up with an ultimate move and that's fine but I can't have you continue to ignore the development of your quirk"

On the table he listened a report well it was more like a summary.

It's the one I gave to nezu shortly after I set up my dorm. It listened everything I could explain about my ability.

"You can passively detect and sample quirks before activating your quirk."

Not seeing where he was going with this I responded yes.
"To copy a power I need to activate it but to sample it no activation is needed."

Back when Seraphina collapsed and Elaine tried healing her I sampled her ability before activating my ability.
"I Don't see how that's helpful" I mumbled

Aizawa proposed an interesting question "instead of waiting for someone to activate their quirk on the fly why don't you work on holding a sample for as long as you can."

My eyes widened as I had never considered that as a possibility.

Aizawa seeing that I understood continued "this won't solve your fundamental problem of needing an active quirk but if you train yourself to hold quirk samples for longer then you currently can then that gives you and your allies more flexibility"

So that's the strategy Aizawa choose for me to improve thanks to his input I was able to keep that ability I saw at start of the exam sampled up until now.

My ability has so much room to improve and my time at UA has pushed my ability to levels I never thought possible

Even with this upgrade I still can't get around the fact that I lose all my samples when I depower
But for now that's fine.

That shape shifting ability exceeded my expectations.

When I copied it I instinctively knew that activation conditions for that power to work was blood.

This tells me that she was already transformed when we met her at the bus stop. So it's likely that the body she transformed into has the ability to make illusions like she claimed.

If that person can extract the quirk factor from the person they transform into like I can then that would make them similar to monama.

Basically another copy quirk.

I didn't consume any of Shindo's blood to be able to transform into him. I was able to combine the shape shifting ability with my aura Manipulation and transformed into him by sampling his quirk factor.

Since they're now combined that shape shifting quirk can on its own store 4 four people to transform into.
I could probably exceed this limit if I actually consumed blood.

And the best part is I can still use transformed quirk factors in unison with Todoroki's and ojiro's ability.

The ice around kept on crumbling until it was all nothing more then ruble.
