"Too late, pretty boy!"--Hebinoya Ikari

POV—Hebinoya Ikari
Exams
Don't let me go.
Tests are coming.
I prepare in every way possible,
Because that is what I was made for,
And what got me into
UA.
Don't let me go.
My pencil scratches against the paper as I put in my final answer. The clock leaves me ten minutes to check my answers, and I do— three times. The room is silent, with nothing but the occasional sniffle from Mineta or the slight tapping from Kaminari's foot. I turn the page over once more, glancing at the clock, with only thirty seconds left. Aizawa is already back in the room, ready to take in the papers.
I am confident I had gotten everything right. In midterms I was first, and I am positive I will be again. Even after my study session with my friends, I had studied for hours after that, not wanting to slack off. I'm convinced the hard part is yet to come— practical exams. Unlike the written ones, I don't know what to expect, and last night I had buried myself in more Quirk theory and analyzation books until I had no other choice but to sleep.
"Pencils down, everybody!" Aizawa calls. I take a sigh of relief, our third day of written exams finally over. We hand in our papers and the class begins to buzz with excitement. Ashido and Kaminari immediately crowds around me.
"Thank you so much, Hebinoya! You're the best!" Ashido compliments. I smile at them, my heart nearly pounding out of my chest. It feels good to be appreciated.
Don't let me go.
I had thought up of countless scenarios for what the practical exams would bring us, but none of them seem to fit. I had already ruled out robots the second I had thought of it— if they threw another one at us again, it would be impractical since we know how to fight it, and I'd probably throw a fit.
As I stand underneath the blistering sun, waiting for the teachers to instruct us on what to do, my mind runs again. An unusual amount of teachers stand at the front of the plaza. The day is sunny, the sky blue and undisturbed.
"We will begin the practical exams," Aizawa announces, stepping out from the flurry of heroes he had just been in. "Of course, you can fail at this exam, like the written one. If you want to go to the training camp, don't make any stupid mistakes..."
Aizawa continues to drone on about the rules and expectations of the exam, his energy unmatched to Ashido's.
"We're fighting robot warriors like the entrance exams, aren't we?" Kaminari shouts, pumping his fists in the air. Ashido fervently agrees with him, throwing in more possibilities. None of them stands out to me as I narrow my eyes at the crowd of teachers.
