In Danger

Lea’s POV

This was the awkward part about staying in Abbeydale – I’ve spent more time on our old house than the usual one. I was alone in the mansion which was my dad’s. Nathan said he didn’t wanna come to the house. Well – his excuse was stupid: he said that there were too many bad memories in the house already.

I know he was right – but those nightmares I received when I was twelve meant something. They weren’t empty. They all had meanings.

The door burst open revealing a blonde with a gun in her hand.

“Good Morning Ellie – I hope you remembered me. If you don’t I’ll introduce myself. I was the one who sent you away”

I stood up from my bed then pushed her away and ran down the stairs.

“Oh. So Ellie’s still in the mood to run huh? Well Ellie – I’m not”

She ran after me and soon she was in front of me. Her hand gripped tight on my neck.

“What about now Lea Parker? Did you feel the pain I felt?”

“Hey – let her go”

It was a relief when I heard their accents. She dropped me on the floor and ran towards them. I pulled her arm to prevent her from going close to her.

“Don’t go any closer to them Caroline – you don’t have the rights. And yes – my father left a will”

Nathan pulled me closer to him and kicked the gun out of her hand.

Nathan’s POV

The boys and I were talking in my room. I’ll tell you later what we’re talking about. No one would like this kind of idea.

“Nate. What? Did you make the decision?”

“What decision?”

Max, Siva and Tom gave me a sad look.

“Sending her back to her dad”

“No. What are you talking about?”

“Nate – your girlfriend’s in danger. You did notice that, right? She was just attacked by her step-mother fifteen minutes ago. Even though she’s with us – Caroline can still go after her but with her dad she can’t. Collins has agents or anyone to protect them. Look at Hanna – she isn’t harmed even though Caroline said she’ll go after her. Think about it Nate – are you gonna keep her away from danger or are you gonna keep the danger close to her?”

I thought about it deeply. Maybe it was time to give her to her dad. We kept her safe, once – but now it wasn’t enough for Caroline not to attack her.

“So – did you think about it?”

Tom gave me a warm smile.

Lea’s POV

I was sitting in Jessica’s room alone. Jessica, Paige, Caylah and Thalia went shopping and Cheryl was going to visit her parents. There was a sense of relief that I was left alone in peace until Nathan and Jay ran inside.

“Hey guys – what do you need?”

Jay pushed Nathan slightly towards me and went out the door. Nate had this strange look on his face which also meant he was gonna say something that was hard to say.

“What are you gonna tell me? This can’t be good – why is it so hard to say?”

He sat down beside me and held my hand.

“This is a bit awkward but we needed to do something so Caroline won’t get near you anymore”

“What?”

“We planned to take you back to your dad. We called Hanna and told her to tell your dad that you were in Abbeydale so he can come and pick you up. He’ll be here tomorrow – so you better start packing”

Nathan stood up and walked away from the bed. I grabbed his wrist and gave him a sad look.

“Will you keep this relationship?”

That time – he looked down with tears raining down from his eyes.

“That was what I hated the most – because you’re not gonna be with Tom anymore it would be hard to keep you in contact. I’m sorry Lea – but I think we need to end this relationship”

Something snapped inside me as he said the last three words. I couldn’t accept it. Of course – I would be so depressed and I was gonna spend less time with him and the boys. Since I met all of them I started being close to the boys. How was I gonna get use to being away from them?

I laid flat on my bed and covered myself with the covers.

“Lea”

“Leave me alone Nathan”

Sounds of footsteps were formed after I said those words. What have I done?

Tom’s POV

“That was what I hated the most – because you’re not gonna be with Tom anymore it would be hard to keep you in contact. I’m sorry Lea – but I think we need to end this relationship”

I felt my stomach ache as I heard Nathan say those lines. There was silence after that until Nathan went out the door and looked at me.

“Nathan”

He spun his heel to turn around from me and walked down the stairs. I ran after him outside and grabbed his arm.

“Let go of me”

He pulled his arm off my hand and stormed away. My God – what have I done? There was no way he was gonna forgive me for what I’ve done. I ran back inside and into Lea’s room where she was sitting on bed with her stretched to the foot of the bed while reading a ‘Seventeen’ magazine.

“Oh. What do you want? Do you want to let me know about the ‘we’ll-send-you-back-to-your-father’ thing. Yeah – I get it already. Now – can you please leave me alone?”

“I’m not going out until we talk about this”

“Get out of this room now”

“I’m older than you Lea”

“So – you’re not my brother, right? I’m going back to being a Collins – you’re taking me away as a Parker; even though it was the best thing that happened to me. Well – my thought was wrong. Just get out of this room, please”

*The Next Morning*

Lea’s POV

I stormed out the door and into my dad’s van without saying a word or saying goodbye to anyone. Paige and Caylah did the same after giving the boys a hug. I crashed my bags on the trunk and plugged in my earphones while listening to ‘Beautiful People’ by Cher Lloyd.

My dad looked at me. His hair was still in perfect brown. He rubbed my hand softly and smiled.

“Welcome back, Eleanor Collins”
